A Single Stroke play is a real Tournament.

A Unlimited Stroke Play is not really a Tournament - what kind of a Tournament allows you to play unlimited number of times to lower your score?

Make a Tournament of Unlimited times.Enter it as many times as you want BUT Your posted score would be the last score you made. If you shoot a 30, that is your posted score. Play it again and shoot a 33, 33 would be your posted Tournament score. Play it a third time, shoot a 29,  now that is your posted Tournament score. Play it again shoot a 35, that now is your posted score, and so on and so on.

I agree in principle but it will not happen.

The only reason we have unlimited tournaments are to encourage players to play as many times as possible = increased ball usage.

What you are suggesting would limit this.

I usually play most unlimited tournaments once, perhaps twice if I like the course - some players play them many many times and have a ton of restarts - and effectively even if they win the tournament, the poor prize amount actually means a net loss.

Even the VUS Open Qualifier I played only 3 times - perhaps if I played it 20-30 times I may have snuck in, But the net gain would probably be negligible for the ball usage IMO.
