  I have played every "simulated golf game out there"  WGT is a very good game, BUT, the putting mechanics are miserable!  Putting is so difficult, it takes away completely from the rest of the game.  You folks could take some pointers from the others....and make putting a little more manageable.

   

  Just an addition....I appreciate the game is free (and, for the most part it is really enjoyable) but the putting IS very difficult and the mechanics are not sound (same with chipping).  There should be a way to make the putting more reasonable!

  If you use the search box just to the right in the forums, you can find a lot of great putting tips.  Players have spent a lot of time compiling them and they have helped many players.

  Yes it is hard, but that is why it is so rewarding when it all comes together. If putting was a piece of cake to master, we'd all be bored rigid within a couple of weeks.

  You came back only three days ago - just give yourself more practice!

  Some tips:

  Take care of different green speeds, get the distance right, then the slope.

  Get yourself two short wedges (preferably lvl 39 up) for closer approaches.

  Wait with buying a putter - only above 500 crs!

  Follow up:  Ok, great, thanks for the tip...but here is a suggestion for the "WGT" folks.  The physics (especially on and around the greens) are terrible to say the least.  With all due respect (and I understand this is a free game) have any of the designers ever played golf?  Balls hit with higher irons generally stop as opposed to lower irons.  Typically, putts don't travel 20 to 30 feet when hit lightly, and (if anyone pays attention), you lose sight of a potentially fabulous free golfing experience in the game by making the putting so difficult.  Some of us Don't have the HOURS it takes to learn how to putt.  We just get on to play for fun from time to time....you definitely would be able to retain more interest if you made the game more playable.....especially the putting and green physics.  Oh, by the way...in case you don't golf...golf balls DON"T hit slopes and bounce backwards in the real game of golf.  Thanks
