The sad demise of the Oddball CC

  As some of you may know, I have been running the Oddball CC for some time.

  Sadly, I cannot see a future for the CC and I have therefore made the following announcement on the CC forum:

  It is with deep regret that I make this announcement.

  Oddballs was my creation, my baby.

  I started this CC with high hopes and we did have a very good run in the beginning, attracting very good players, and, more importantly, some lovely people.

  Unfortunately my work meant I could not keep up with the pressure and time required to keep the club running and I therefore decided to sign it over to someone else.

  This proved to be a fatal move and I now see that the CC is stagnating and I simply cannot afford the time to try to bring the club back to where it was.

  Rather than signing the CC over to someone else, I have therefore decided to close the club. This is because I cannot see any way that it will be run in the way I intended it to be run.

  So, my friends, this is the end of the line. It's been a blast and I am sure that you will all find other clubs that can give you what you desire from a CC.

  Thanks all for your loyalty and friendship - you are a truly amazing bunch of people!

  The CC will be closed as of Monday July 14th 12:00 GMT.

  The Oddballs really had some great guys and gals so if anyone would like to recruit some nice people, you might want to have a quick look at the member lists before it disappears. I'd love to see my friends finding a good home!

  Always a shame when a good club closes. If you need a new home Kelly I'll put the kettle on. The same goes for any of your members.

  Very true and I know you put in a hell of a lot of time and effort to make it a great club Kelly. I admire all the hard working owners out there and I hope that you and the other members find new active and fun clubs.

  My club's closing too in less than a week and the active members (about 20-25) are starting a new club. " justacowboy " will be the owner. If any of your active members want in on the ground floor of a new club, we'd be glad to have them.

  Sad to hear, seems you ask you and your members are welcome at Clubbanditos, i dont run it but i know you would be more than welcome. Very friendly lot with an emphasis on having a bit of banter. Good luck.

  feel for you Kelly.  I have not been here long at all.  Started a CC and did not realize the time it needed to be  run, and my health limited my time so I needed to transfer ownership.  

  They are working on starting a new Club, and they will do great.

  I am truly humbled by the amount of supporting messages I have received since my announcement of the closure of The Oddballs.

  I have also received numerous invitations to join other CC's.

  I am looking at all these and will endeavour to make a decision shortly and will of course respond to everybody.

  Again, thanks to everybody who have supported me/invited me - and a special thanks to the CC's who have already taken some of the Oddballers in. Much appreciated.

  sad day KELLY I will miss the oddballers cc as I  have met some nice friends and truly fine golf buddies  so my thanks goes to you 1st for the welcome into ODDBALL CC 2ND TO THANK YOU FOR THE WAY YOU RAN THE CLUB SAD DAY GOD BLESS YOU KELLY AND HAPPY DAY  P S LOOK AFTER KITTY  BERTINO X
