The sad demise of the Oddball CC

  I hate to see any club collapse.  Its more work than what people think it is.  I too sent you a club invite to Pirates Hideaway Golf Club.  Any of your members are more than welcome to come join us....as well as yourself.

  I can feel what you were talking about....I've got a pretty descent up and coming Golf Club and could really use your knowledge to make  it even better.   I have looked long and hard at the invitations received. Very good clubs have asked me to join and most of them with people I know, respect and like very much.

  However, I really like the idea of maybe helping a new CC to prosper so I have decided to take Steven up on his invitation.

  No disrespect to any of the other clubs - I really just like the idea of being able to help someone out.

  Omega Golf and Country Club is a Team Speak only club,  we have room for some of you guys but we do not type.  A very close knit group of guys in this small club,  daily, weekend and mid week tourneys with all the majors and the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup.

  Be proud to have any of you guys if you want to come over.

  It's sad to hear about The Oddball CC, Kelly.  I'm glad you found a new home ... one you can help grow.

  If there's anything I can do to help you or Steven along, just drop me a line.  With the help of New Haven, I've been able to really improve my tourney manager.  While it does need a few month's of tweak time, I'd be happy to share it with you.

  As some of you may know, I have been running the Oddball CC for some time.

  Sadly, I cannot see a future for the CC and I have therefore made the following announcement on the CC forum:

  It is with deep regret that I make this announcement.

  Oddballs was my creation, my baby.

  I started this CC with high hopes and we did have a very good run in the beginning, attracting very good players, and, more importantly, some lovely people.

  Unfortunately my work meant I could not keep up with the pressure and time required to keep the club running and I therefore decided to sign it over to someone else.

  This proved to be a fatal move and I now see that the CC is stagnating and I simply cannot afford the time to try to bring the club back to where it was.

  Rather than signing the CC over to someone else, I have therefore decided to close the club. This is because I cannot see any way that it will be run in the way I intended it to be run.

  So, my friends, this is the end of the line. It's been a blast and I am sure that you will all find other clubs that can give you what you desire from a CC.

  Thanks all for your loyalty and friendship - you are a truly amazing bunch of people!

  The CC will be closed as of Monday July 14th 12:00 GMT.

  The Oddballs really had some great guys and gals so if anyone would like to recruit some nice people, you might want to have a quick look at the member lists before it disappears. I'd love to see my friends finding a good home!

  Sorry to see your club closing.  I know what a huge asset you were as a owner to the club and to all of WGT.  I know you will bring that same great help to Steven and his club.  Good luck with your new adventure!

  Thanks Kat!!  You know I've come to you before for advice and you were always quick to assist me!! 

  And a BIG thanks to Kelly for accepting my club invitation...i'll be leaning on your experience in making our Golf Club better!!
