Why cant we get a golf bag that lets you put your un used balls in it so you can use them all without running out and having to use entry level WGT balls to ruin your game??

Cmon man . You have been playing this game now for 5 years so you already know how it goes . The game gives you every chance to purchase more balls , from start to finish . So if you allow yourself to run out , its no ones fault but your own .

If you get the Tour Plus bag then you can have a 4 bag set up with different balls . What WGT should do is stop giving the free ball when players run out , and disqualify the players instead . After a few dq`s you`ll stop running out of balls then .

While I don't think that such "Why" question will get an answer, I'm with the company concerning the free balls. After all, we are no golf pros for real, only in virtual mode. The client, the gamer in us would be too much pi**es off being DQed, wouldn't we?

Instead, we get that feckin stone - enough of a penalty IMHO.

People should be thankful that WGT allows you to purchase additional balls of the type you're currently using when you're down to the last one in your bag.

Seriously, this subject is one of the deadest horses that still gets beaten.  Why, dammit.  Why.

Because people want it. Heck, millions of people ask for world peace daily. They're not going to get it but they still keep asking for it.

This is the section of the forum for product suggestions. As long as WGT provides this area for member input members will continue to ask for it. The same applies to a driving range, practice area, controls in country clubs, etc., etc., etc.

WGT cites the One Ball Condition as the reason. I agree with them in competitions. I have yet, however, to see a WGT moderator or administrator explain why such a rule applies or should apply to practice. While the  programming may be difficult, making the game more realistic should be one of their goals no matter how difficult it is. Not allowing equipment substitution at will in practice mode is unrealistic.

I've seen all of those suggestions before, but not to this point.  They also would create a new dynamic to the game.  However, this subject is really moot.  There's nothing stopping anyone from stocking up on a certain ball just in case.  If they don't like that option, you can always buy another sleeve mid-round if you drop to 1.  However, I can see quite a few reasons why swapping balls mid-round is most certainly NOT a good idea - the most obvious one being that someone can use high quality balls to gain a lead, and then swap out to starter balls and just coast to a win, thereby saving durability.

Obviously if they were to implement this for practice, they'd have to for ranked/challenge/etc., allowing a semi-exploit for some people.

First of all, they cited it only once (recently), the other quotations were from users who believe in it. I don't, I rather think that the rule is "no options in the game".

Starting from this, we come to #2.

Second, limiting the option to practice would mean an extra effort of programming for practice rounds which I deem less important in objective and number. Why should they spend money into this effort, reducing their revenue?

Third, opposite to your thinking it's not realism as their primary goal but - again - revenue.

I'm sorry, no difficult and costly programming to fulfil your wishes.

Why? Beause it's a friggin' GOUGE, that's why. Look, WGT is making money hand over fist by selling us disappearing ("ball taken out of play") golf balls, You come off as either a WGT shill or a spoiled rich brat who has no idea where money comes from.

Hell, look up at the top of this forum page. See that banner ad? See the ads left, right and below? I do web marketing and would venture that for the traffic count WGT can claim, the ads visible only on this screen would cover all WGT overhead for the day.

And what is the overhead for WGT? Well, mostly web servers and programmers, and most of the programming is already done and doesn't have to keep being redone. I don't mind WGT making a handsome buck, but the gouging by taking away golf balls after only a couple of rounds is highway robery.

Okay, WGT sheep. Leap in and bleat how thankful we all should be that WGT lets us spend our money here and that it's just flat rude and ungrateful  to express a complaint or even float a suggestion. Love the game, but hate being squeezed like a lemon for every last credit of juice.

Gouging or not, they are a business, meant to make money.

Adding all the revenue, that's the minimum target for this business. If they are to reduce any income (e.g. ball changes), they'd certainly look out for compensation. Our gain might be zero or negative.

Don't forget the new courses. Shoot the pictures (300,000?), measure the greens, process the pictures (six months?), put a course together - it's not a free lunch.

And if you think that they take too much from you, it's up to you to change the situation and act accordingly.

To me, it's an inexpensive pastime - I like to play golf and I adore the views!

    Agree.

We paid to buy them, they're in our bag - all 29 37 of them.. just weighing it down.

This is a virtual golf game, not real life. (where, incidentally, being a weekend hacker I use any ball I like)

Let us use the balls we have here!

    It's not the PGA.

Wgt cites the one ball rule, then gives us the free rock.. which breaks the rule anyway..

    Doh!

Get real, get virtual and.. go figure.
