ApexPC:But, it is not shown until the players turn so each player has the same amount of time to ponder that info. Otherwise the 2nd, 3rd, last player to shoot gains an advantage over the first player.
I always thought that was a lame excuse by WGT. The 2nd, 3rd and last player can already ponder their distance to the pin for a longer amount of time. And that's normally a much bigger factor in their next shot. How much time do you need to ponder an elevation change anyway? "OK, down 8ft, let me take 3 off the distance." Having 2 to 3 more minutes to ponder "down 8 ft" is a laughable advantage.
Doesn't showing the wind power and direction to waiting players on every par 3 constitute an unfair advantage as well? Its a lame excuse by WGT not to show elevation on the mini-map.
For players who use a calculator, or spreadsheet, or program to figure out their next shot its just one more item then could enter while waiting. It could save 5 seconds, more or less, of shot time prep for those players. That would be 45 seconds per player for 9 holes, so it could save a couple of minutes per 9 hole AS game.
