Your average starts over at the new tier, it's not a mistake.  All prior scores are not counted, only those at the new tier.

Your average was 68 before you changed? How did you get it so low? Your lowest score in the past year was a 41, not counting the few 37's-38's that happened on the par 3 course. Something isn't right.

It must be down to 18 victories over Masters in match play, it happened just after one such victory. However with 131 losses it seems a bit harsh.

    Steve.

Thanks, Steve, forgot about that WGT move to curtail sandbagging. Beat a higher tier for credits and they find you.  :-)

Has it been made to be only credit games?  (Should be)  I know when it was first implemented it would happen even in a friendly no credit match game.

I think it was changed because there was a lot of flak about it plus players were intentionally taking advantage of it to advance. Not 100% sure.

His first score at the new tier was a 48 for 9 holes - 48 x 2 = 96 - his new score average at the new tier.

Nothing more to add except things will not get any better for you judging by your stats.

I am not trying to be rude, but I will be honest.

You have been playing for long enough to have at least partly learnt the game, but it seems not.

I am not sure if your swing meter is bad or your coordination is bad, as your driving stat is shocking and as a result all your stats flow south from there.

If it is the former, you can fix or certainly improve that, if it is the latter, slow meter balls will aid this.

But you really need to start to learn how to play, use course management and use all shots, especially around the green where you seem to be clueless. Read the forums for help, hints and tips, ask better players to help - most will be willing to provided you are willing to learn.

At Masters, this game gets a whole lot tougher, and the way you have got there by match play wins (albeit a low win/loss ratio) has not taught you how to improve.

FWIW,  its not " just for credits" in my case anyway, i turned to Master after winning a ranked matchplay game that was not for credits
