This game is not resource hungry in any "gamers" way.
Work supplies me a lenovo, but I keep that just for work not letting IT have an inch if something goes wrong there.
IMO (as an informed user only) it really is a case of buying what you need tech wise, no such thing as future proofing in any meaningful way.
Nearly two years ago now I bought a 15.4 inch Acer Laptop (modicum of common sense to where sighted when on, and on just about 24/7/365).
The Bad:
Only an OK keyboard, and a body that would not withstand hard road use. This was all fine as it was only ever a home use desk top replacement, and I have a good keyboard that I linked up easy anyway. Typing now using the TV screen 8 feet away...easy stuff.
Screen only SD, not HD. Again fine as I have a HD screen when I care, and the HDMI out links to my HDTV when I care just fine too (only the inbuilt screen not capable of HD). Resolution optimises easily across the board.
Inbuilt speakers tinny by (aleit expensive one's) some modern laptop standards. Again not an issue as even cheap stand alone's (talking even $10) pi$$ over any laptop speakers anyway IMO, and I had a nice 2.1 set anyway.
Size - hardly a small. Included this in the bad but I really saw it as a quick win as I was only looking for a desktop replacement anyway, and so no point paying for ultra slim whatever.
The Good:
Medium range 3D graphics card. At least I think that is good as probably never bother it much not being a gamer. Apparently some also inbuilt Nvidia Optimus stuff manages 2D / 3D when needed anyway, and I doubt I trouble that too much anyway;
Hard drive huge even 2 years ago and it works just fine. Could have gone the SD route (room to add if wanted) but the standard rotational one is just fine. I did look in to this aspect at the time (used model number) and my HD it got a v reasonable rating both for real time speed and quality;
RAM - Came with 4 gigs and probably would been fine. Crucial had a usual special on at a time when RAM was cheap anyway (no idea now), and so bought 8 gig of the best (not expensive). I can easily play this game, run HD video encoding / have large photo files open / word / excel / whatever really all at the same time, and never miss a beat.
CPU - Core i7 (variants exist now and Core i5 would been huge but the i7 was the offer so...)
Maybe got more than I needed, but an end of the line windows 7 on a good offer. Windows 8 not so sure on, but (no idea what you know) my research revealed it's easy to get more than you need, and way more is a paying way extra for zero return from what I saw.
Have a look here, and hope some of this may help you.
The only thing Acer about my Acer is the badge (way to think of it anyway IMO), but that's the same for all makes (again way to think of it before some real serious delving). If you wanted an all in one can't go wrong tomorrow then a good Samsung keeps looking good whenever I look, but I think I got a way better deal with a little delving........
Had no complaints at all. After nearly two years, just keeps doing anything I want it to (including multi tasking watching blu ray films in HD on TV whilst HD video encoding etc) in double quick time, and a very reasonably priced way sub real gamers laptop.
