yeh but a bunch of tour legends and legends that only play ready go tourneys and can afford to buy passes every game and not play a cc tourney how boring a club is that just check the leader boards and the relevant peoples stats sooner have active members in a club who want a bit of banter and have fun than to see our name in lights woopeedoo crack on (not aimed at courtneys' club)

I see Deviations have regained top spot by bringing in a ringer. :-)

Over 10 players that haven't played in over two years... Very loyal club, I guess.

Hi Irish .. nice to meet you.  Thanks for the kind comment about being a very loyal club .. we try hard to be.   Our members know once they are in .. they are in unless 1) they decide to leave on their own or 2) they break one the golden rules ... cheating, multi accounting, or just plain being a total azzhole.     I posted this the other day in another thread where some folks were curious about Dev's ... Just thought it would make sense here to give a bit of a background.

    -----------------

That's the good thing about the WGT C Club feature .. you can make your club anything you want.  Big or small ... they can be whatever you want them to be.

Folks ask me about Deviations all the time ... maybe here's the right place for some info.

I like to say our C Club has been around for 5 years now --- that's about a year before WGT even had the C Club feature.   The majority of our folks started hanging together in a chat room Mid 2009 .. around the time of the BP open.   That's when our club was founded.

We keep our membership small, preferring the active members to get to know folks before they are asked to join.   That doesn't mean Bollox doesn't get tons of requests --- but  we've tried 3 times adding a folks no one knew too well but those 3 folks decided the club was not for them and moved on.

If folks come by the chat room and have some "staying power" they'll be asked to join.   We don't really care if your good at WGT and/or even play a lot.  We add folks who just play poker with us or participate in our fantasy sports leagues.

I'm often asked why we don't delete people from our roster when they don't play.   We've had folks who have been away from the game for over a year come back to find they are still wanted.   Angel had a family tragedy that forced him to stop playing - he came back after a year.  AvLee retired - but still stops by to play poker once in a while.   We don't really care about statistics --- and/or which club gets recognition.

But I will say one thing --- our members know each other by name, we talk to each other on the phone, we've met in person (I've played real golf with 10 of them myself) --- some of us have gone on golf trips together.   We visit each other as we travel the country on business & take vacations.   We know when folks get married, graduate college, and celebrate birthdays --- we know when folks get divorced, have tragedies and have loved lost.

Clubs can be big / small ... personal or impersonal ... for WGT players or just for social reasons .... WGT C Clubs can can be whatever you like ....

There is another thing we do not have in our club!

    DRAMA QUEENS.

Just plain old golfer's who enjoy doing whatever it is we do.
