    Me too!

And mm, we really do run it as a secret envelope from both captains. Those pics I showed are of independent messages to me from Steve (via PM) and Russ (via email). Unless the two of them colluded (which I very much doubt!) there's no way they would know the other team's line-up.

Team ROW won the final Alt match with some very fine play and clutch putting. I'll let them tell the story of their victory. :)

    Corwyn:
    B ::     Corwyn & cricketrules                 vs    BigKnight & CerinoDevoti

B :: This match is already scheduled for Wednesday 10/1, 4:30pm UTC (9:30am WGT time).

Match B just finished, and it was a somewhat scrappy, tension-filled match, edged by Team ROW 2 & 1.

Cerino had found his range with some beautiful approaches, but BK had an uncharacteristically tough day with the putter, except for a nice bird from 10ft short of #11 that gave Team USA the early lead. We'd also been fortunate not to lose the 10th after I'd missed from 17ft left.

Team USA found a tough spot on the green long right on #12, and our par from 12ft short was enough to get us back on terms (Jack's birdie try had flown sideways off the putter). I managed to hole a lucky 22 footer from the right-side of #13 that took us in front.

On #14 Cerino almost holed a long one (from 36ft left) while we made a solid par from 30ft short. Then Team USA managed a great up-and-down on #15 (after very unluckily trickling off the green from what looked like a beauty tee shot): another half.

Then I got a run-up approach downwind to #16 to bounce on nicely, and Jack buried it beautifully from 9ft short and slightly left to take us to dormie two (although Cerino had an heroic near-miss with his 25ft putt from the right-side).

When Cerino's 14ft birdie try on #17 lipped-out, that was all she wrote...

    Here's the card:

P.S. I did love seeing a new camera angle... When the game ended, they switched over to the Blimp for the closing screen wrap-up:

It was fun to see myself way down there, lol!

As everyone knows, that was a much-needed point for Team ROW...

... shades of Saturday afternoon at Medinah, with the good guys (lol) winning the last 2 matches of the series to stay in touch, and take an unstoppable momentum into the Singles!

Overall match score now: Team USA: 7  -  Team ROW: 5

On a more serious note, please do post here to let me know how your scheduling is going for the Singles matches. Thanks!

Alright there, Mags and I shared our game. As expected, I met a great player but also a great  guy, just a gentleman!

1st hole was a misery for me, I played long and tad right to the pin, the ball went down of course when Mag's one stuck 2 yds on the left of the hole. Got badly metered on my chip for a 3...done!

Then I could get on his back and follow him in his greatness. I had to sink few putts for this but we started enjoying the good plays from both sides.

Then the bottom of my window showed a message I've never got before  (see pics below) and my game became slow, movements were out of sync, and I had to mange those couple of seconds before the meter starts moving, the dot on the ball, or the aim arrow...basically all the movements you need to to when you prepare a shot.

Became worse and worse until Mags suggest to reboot and come back, I just didn't want to mess up the game, I was 3 dwn I think. Well whatever, you'll see on the card that we were far of the club house when Mags decided to end the game. I wish I could have all the potential of my computer to enjoy a little more of this game.

Thank you all for this event, it was a blast to share it with you...all of you! Thanks again Mags, hope we'll have the pleasure to share more of this!

    Go USA!

ROW 6&5. Thanks very much to Fred for the game. He played very well but was increasingly struggling with how the game was performing.

    Match report:

I was not to be fooled by all the spoofing and faux-humility earlier in this thread!!! After a couple of dreadful matchplay games recently I was determined to produce some decent form in this game.

Hole 2 I usually dribble the left to right putt to the right, so aimed my 8 footer a bit more left and hit it firmer. So, of course, I missed left. Doh!

Hole 4 was unreachable so only pars there.

Hole 10 I put my 2nd too far right and on the side slope. I felt on the backswing I had not aimed far enough right and was in danger of going long left, but got lazy and just tried to hit it late rather than stopping and re-aiming. Pars there.

All the rest were birdies, so -10 through 13 was a bit closer to decent play. Fred holed great putts to stay only 1 down after 7, but ran out of birdies.

Here are the vids, part 1 before the reboot, part 2 after. My game froze after I hit the last putt, but Fred confirmed it went in and the game was over as his scorecard shows.

Good luck everyone else, and enjoy the matches :-)

Ben and I are scheduled for Sunday,  probably  11:00am for Ben 5:00pm for me.  Just waiting for Ben's confirmation of the time.

Well done Corwyn and Jack  on wrapping up the foursomes with a good point for ROW,  and to Mags for starting the singles with a ROW victory.

The momentum is turning towards ROW at the moment, keep it up guys.

ROW played quite well..very solid...I wanted to give a quick shoutout to my partner CD who play beautifully and didn't deserve to lose that match...

    Looking forward to singles!

Ross and myself are trying for Sunday evening my time, afternoon for him.  He suggested an alternative but that was a midnight start for me so I suspect he was hoping I would have had a tipple or 6 before the game.

You've gotta watch out for these tricks fellow ROW team mates.  My bottle of water went missing before we started out alt game last weekend and Rock gave me a spare one he happened to have in his bag.  Now, I don't want to suggest anything dodgy but that was some of the finest tasting water I ever had and the smell of juniper berries was really something to savour.

Sadly, after savouring the whole bottle I did start to notice my judgement went slightly astray.
