    cbbcrazy:

I read the report in the link,  those are numbers from the tee box.  From the fairway there is very little difference that I have noticed so far.

..and for my sake, if you have the occasion, let me know how far she hits from the rough. LOL!

When I'm high enough, I'll get it for the 1.5 spin alone.  The 89 BB already gives me birdie opportunities on certain par 3s I never really had much chance in before - at least not consistently.

I've only played a couple of rounds with it but so far it's a bit mixed.  It is certainly very long, from fairway as well as tee.  You can reach more par 5 greens in two compared to the L89 version but, as already suggested elsewhere, you might not hold them.  Stopping power does seem to be down a bit, especially with a tail wind.

I haven't tried it from the rough yet, the R1 driver is so good I rarely get the chance these days.

    #5000 Post MM - congrats.

As for me, perhaps good on the par 5's but also will require clamping down too much on those long par 3's where the 3I is not enough club.

I am not sure whether we need clubs with more distance unless there is a risk/reward scenario.

I just played the weekly unlimited 9 at Oakmont back 9. On # 12 with a 14 or 15 mile tail wind I played my second shot with about 75 % top spin with the new BB 3 wood and it went 305 stopping on the back edge. I have never come close to reaching that green in 2 from the legend tees with any wind set or any 3 wood before.

On another note. I played the BB from the rough yesterday and it performs very well with the punch.

that hole SHOULD be hit in 2 strokes given that wind. Even with the SLDR and the L 89 Bertha, I've blown it over the green in 2 strokes downwind about 13 mph

Thanks MainzMan and alanti, sounds like it acts exactly how I thought it would.  I'll hang on to my level 89 for now.

I wouldn't feel comfortable hitting med-high traj. wood
on a hole like Cong's #6, I don't care how much spin it has..

    MainzMan:

If you buy the club before the rental period ends it would be nice to have the rental fee deducted from the price, then I might be tempted to give it a try.

    Tick tock, tick tock........

    Credits, pocket, burning.........

I think it would just be honest and fair play.

    As would any other trader.

Thanks Alan, I see you hit 4,000 about the same moment.

Not sure whether congratulations or commiserations are called for though to be honest.
