  A tongue in cheek thread....

  She ended each post with a " Thank You And Goodbye !"

  So in reality that was  blast from the past.

  Not so terse as it initially appeared.

  Sometimes,,,,,,lol. We all have to be extremely careful how we phrase things. I've said this many times before, jumping in on a topic in these forums is so difficult. Everyone has so many different takes, views, opinions, etc,,etc,,that many of these topics end up getting derailed, argumentative or flat out closed.

  I started this topic out of pure frustration. Have read some great feed back,,,,for the most part, and now wherever this may go. Just one last note -

  I didn't see your quote copy as negative at all.Actually I copied Paulton's remark and didnt get the entire quote up and running.

  His take was negative and I thought personal and unnecessary.

  I really didn't see my response as negative ...........more of an illumination.

  I have to be in total agreement with your frustration........ VEM is the target Topic and the only reason I peeped here to begin with.

  It is so very frustrating to hit what you think is a stellar shot......

  only to leave you befuddled and ticked off.

  LMAO

  And as always in WGT Forums...... the original thread has derailed into the abyss.

  Since I'm not sure what you are unsure about on what I said, I'll try to answer your question best I can. All I meant was I see it posted often where a remark is made on someone's stats, like a putting average being terrible, but those stats, at least mine, do not reset as you move up.

  So, all the quadruple bogies I had while learning, and that cranked my average putts per hole up over 1.8, are still part of that statistic. If it did reset, say at TM, my average, and many other's too, would be much better than the 1.79 that shows in my stats.

  In other words, when you move up a tier, your scoring average resets to 71, or whatever it is, but the rest of your statistics never reset, so bringing a putting per hole average down will take quite some time. And a player's stats, unless they start a new account once they have the game down, do NOT reflect how good or bad a player they are.

  I've got nothing but respect for most TL's, but there are a few who seem to really enjoy telling lower tiered players how much they suck. But, using a players putting average as the basis for their reasoning is BS and just wrong. It doesn't apply to determining where a player is at that time, or any time really, except in their 1st month or so of play.

  That's interesting, but I think I may know why it is. May. I know many play mostly 9 hole rounds trying to score that magic 30 that will drop averages and move players up faster than if you play mostly 18 holes, as I do. What I know for certain, is that the  averages in my stats at this moment, in no way, reflect my averages in certain areas over the past 3-4 months.

  That's really all I'm saying. Other than the few ultra-arrogant players who post mostly to discourage other players, instead of encourage and offer helpful advice, like most TL's do. Which is what they, and I could put to use. They choose the negative stuff, which serves no other purpose than pumping up, what are already, super-sized ego's.

  They know who they are and who I'm referring to.
