A couple of general gripes.

  I've been a member of WGT since June of 09. For the most part, I've had a lot of fun on this site. It's been in beta mode since I've been here and I can certainly understand that the physics of the game requires some pretty heavy programming skills and some ongoing tweaks to get things just right. 

  However, there are a couple of issues that drive me absolutely insane during my rounds and I'm just gonna use this opportunity to *** awhile so bear with me... I've paid handsomely for the right to do so ...

  Firstly .... how in the name of Harry Vardon can a guy putt the ball from the fringe and the damn thing not even wiggle? I don't mean it only traveled a foot. It was like the club passed right through the ball!!! This is totally ridiculous and should be fixed yesterday!

  Secondly ... Which pencil head at WGT decided to place the Legends 100 freakin' yards behind TOUR MASTERS in MPG's? Have you lost your ever-loving minds? Do you think that because we have achieved Legend status that we somehow have stronger index fingers than lower tiered players? I could understand 25 to even 40 yards back but 100 FREAKING YARDS??? Worse yet, these guys all have the exact same equipment as the Legends. We have virtually ZERO chance of ever winning a MP round with this kind of disadvantage! Don't get me wrong. I love playing with these guys but I am a competitor and try HARD to WIN every round I play! It frustrates me beyond words to hit a dead center drive only to wind up having to use a damn 3 wood on the second shot because I had to hit from 70 to 100 yards behind my fellow competitors.

  Thirdly ... would you PLEASE do something about the inconsistencies of the game? On one hole an 18 mph wind will blow the ball 20 yards offline when struck squarely. Then on the very next one the same wind only moves the ball minimally. On some greens I see a downhill putt to the hole. Ball goes by the hole then there's a downhill putt coming back! How can that be possible? One putt with a certain speed of break moves 5 feet offline, while the almost exact same putt on the next hole moves 20 feet offline. And please don't insult my intelligence with how the real game has inconsistencies in it too. Even the pros can always count of the laws of physics and gravity to remain constant. Otherwise, they'd still be hackers just like the rest of us.

  Give us at LEAST consistency. I can adapt to known factors but I cannot adapt to reactions that don't match the original action on a consistent basis!!

  I especially agree with your second point. I used to play Match play almost exclusively,

  but since the changes it simply doesn't make sense. Same equipment-different tees.

  The quickest way to  make this fair is to play from the same tees. The person who

  initiates the Match Play seach should be the deciding factor in the tees. Don't want

  to play a Legend from the back tees-then refuse the invite.

  Now when I search for Match Play I only look for Legends. This method has reduced

  my Match Play by about 95%;  it just takes too long to find a game.

  I agree 100% macbar.

  I've learned to deal for the most part with the glitchy meter, lack of full courses to play, and so on, but the other inconsistencies of the game just leave me baffled.

  It's not just a couple of things either. Clubs, wind, greens, etc, etc, etc. The list goes on.

  I'm still new to the game but have been reviewing the forums quite a bit.  Seems that there a few constants out there for me to look forward to.

  One thing is for certain.  I don't want to earn the Master or Legend ranking.  I'll keep playing blitz to avoid it I guess.

  My last *** session took place on October 15. Since then, things have only gotten worse. WGT are you completely stupid or do you simply not give a tinker's damn about your loyal customers? 

  I've played two rounds tonight. During both I had to deal with a damn meter that looked like EKG readouts and with (rare) perfectly struck shots and putts that wound up looking like a rank amateur hit them. I understand that no simulator is perfect but you need to stop handing us that worn out line about the meter problems being related to the user's computer. That's a cop out and you damn well know it.

  Putts that are struck on a perfect line and with perfect speed lip out more often than not or suddenly dive right or left at 6" from the hole with no indicators to help the player plan for such occurrences. If the slope dots don't indicate a slope change WE CAN'T PLAN FOR IT!!! That seems like a pretty simple concept to me.

  Also, it's not bad enough that some of you pencil heads labor under the delusion that Legends have MUCH stronger index fingers than everyone else and can, therefore make up for a 40 to 102 yard tee disadvantage against other players with identical equipment ... now they must also have reduced the Legends' hole size by 33%. Putts that used to drop routinely now behave as if there is not even a hole present. 

  What gives people??? 

  Quite frankly, I'm getting damn tired of all of this crap and I am expecting someone to respond to these issues. Otherwise, I'll just have to take my money and go elsewhere.

  Not to discredit your gripes because some are legitimate... but.. when people threaten to take their money elsewhere, I think it makes WGT laugh in private because they know that even with their flaws they are the best product on the market. You could  take your money to Tiger Woods online but that is such a joke when it comes to realism. Some other people talk about "topshot.com" but I have yet to be able to locate this game. topshot.com is a photography site. I am not quite sure what is up with that. Anyway... good luck wherever you decide to go.

  Mac,

  Agree with you on the fringe.  Pretty stupid when a ball rolls better through 30 40 rough than fringe.

  As for the disadvantage playing Tour Masters, yes again it is ridiculous that they get to use the same equipment.  The 280 driver should have been Legend only.  Maybe they'll come to their senses and at least give Legends an exclusive 285 driver.  That said the variance in longer approaches can be overcome....think I'm 24-3 against TMs.

  The bugs on several approaches are headscratchers but several holes always do the same.  Ex.  Kia 1 from 122, hit 130 into a 16 wind and ball flies 132.  Took me a while to learn and wish they would fix these but doubtful they will.  Some though just appear randomly like the shot I just had on STA #6 from 123 into 15 wind right at me...missed 130 club 3 late and ball flew 136 in air with no spin.  Bottom line is they happen to everyone.

  As for green mapping.  WGT has stated that they are fine with it.  Like in real life we have to learn the putts that lie and commit them to memory.  Best way to avoid this is to dodge meter issues, get lucky enough to not get a huge deviation, judge the shot correctly, ding it, get a perfect bounce, and stick the ball 3 feet from pin.  Easy as that.  LOL

  I keep threatening to leave as well but every time I play TWO I'm right back here real quick wondering why I can't get away from this stupid game.  Best of luck my friend.
