You have to use full back spin and play a full shot on this hole, obviously back spin to help the ball stop but also to help it fly higher and clear the front rough.  The L97 Nike irons make the hole much easier, not sure if the L85 will work as well.

Once you get this hole sussed you start to wonder why it used to be so difficult.

With less than L-97 irons, a shot to the center of the green with no spin will roll nicely and stay on

From Legend tee, when the flag is  on the back of the green  and  have little wind in  the face, i play the second shot  3 woods (big bertha level 89) full, i manage to stay on green  only 20 feets from the flag and have a chance for eagle.

Aways more easy to stop long shots,  elevation shot when we have ball with  lots of spin, when  the wind is in the face, and when we have clubs with high trajectory

    Hi

You don't need to use full back spin!

    Have a nice day.

    I wouldn't know.  I can't even reach green in 2.

usually moderate spin will work just fine.

My problem on that hole is getting my second shot to release to the hole. I often come up short unless I fly the ball to within 8 feet of the hole

the left hole location seems to hold approach shots better than the right hole
