I just played a skins game against a player who used a wedge on all of her putts. Made them all of course. I looked at her profile and while she has played on WGT for almost 2 years, has a long putt of 8.4 feet. When I questioned her, she became very belligerent and tried to get me to quit by delaying the game for about 20 minutes. Is this a glitch that people use to avoid putting?

This would not be considered cheating.  Players on the game as well as on real courses are allowed to use wedges on the green.

The only time I use a wedge on the green is to avoid a hill ir a monster break. The shot goes directly to the hole and bypasses and the green bs in-between.

I just played a CC tourney at St. Andrew's, Championship green speed 13. Using my regular

putter was like putting on ice. Then I used a wedge, mostly by accident, and found myself

2 yds from a tap-in. Used the wedge for the rest of the round. Didn't make any hole-ins, but got me a lot closer, lol. I thought I was just being goofy, but the greens were just killing me. Still shot the worst round of my WGT career, and just after a tier promotion, so I got hammered! Good fun either way!

As DB said, it is not cheating as there is nothing in the rules either WGT or actual rules of golf about doing so.

That said it would be frowned upon at most clubs and you may well incur the wrath of a very pi$$ed off green keeper!

But the person in question is certainly a sandbagger - level 94 pro with reasonable equipment compared to her peers. Lets hope the wins in skins are not for credits as then it is nothing short of theft.

Any club can be used on the green. The Rules of Golf do not have a rule that says otherwise.

Using a wedge on the green at the USGA's 2013 US Open at Merion.
