The main issue in Bobby's OP is the unfairness of the list. A simple total accumulation by WGT of XP's (regardless of membership count and participation) is not fair nor does it reflect the actual individual membership involvement. It has absolutely nothing to do with WGT making money from XP pass sales or other incentives.
Every stat for a PGA player is a average of past performance in a given area, i.e. average putts per round, average drive distance, average sand save %, etc. But, when it comes to the top 125 money list, the PGA simply amasses the total for the season with no regard to the number of tournaments played...cut made or not. There would most definitely be a shake up in the list were a average incorporated. Who is the "better" pro...the one who plays in 20 tournaments and earns $3,000,000 or the pro that plays in only 10 and earns $2,000,000? One averages $150,000 per, the other $200,000 per. A average is the only fair way.
