i posted this a couple years ago and i see it's time to repost it......there IS a way to fade and draw that does not involve a special button or feature. and the ball DOES bend.

on either side of the sweet spot (dinger) are two blue areas   the light blue one right next to the dinger     the dark blue one further out.  to fade or draw drag the marker to the opposite side of the direction you want to go.   if a draw  drag it right,  if fade   drag left.  then you want to hit the ball no more than 1/2 way into the dark blue area from the outside edge (furthest from the dinger)....1/4 is ideal.....more than 1/2 on the draw or less than 1/2 on the fade  wont curve it enough. the further from the dinger you hit the more it will bend.     light blue area will just hit straight to the side.

i use this on bethpage # 2 all the time.

The drivers have a kind of draw fade effect, but the iron shots are different, unless this was recently changed, as was pointed out to me. Then there was a lot of testing to confirm.

If the wind is right I like to 'draw or fade' my drives on PH 3, and a recent one* I tried on Oak. just for kicks. The results weren't exactly as planned but it's fun to try.

approach on oakmont  (not a good example but I did aim more left and 'slice' right)

LOL just tried that.  The 1 or 2 times I've done it, it's been in a ranked round and I hit the tree going as conservative as possible.  It figures if you go more aggressive you can go right through the tree!

And here I would sometimes just do a 90-95% fts drive to not land in the rough in a right to left wind and go in with a massive 3W shot that might not even make it!

Does traj. have anything to do with it? I see the Nike Cov. at high and does the R1 black have med/high?

Interesting tactics here, keep me posted , plz guys

It's possible that a certain driver may not make it through depending on trajectory.

I have tried this a few times, and most times it hits the leaves, I think it is the trajectory, my R1 (L48 or so I think) has medium traj, I think that is part of it, also the TL tees are a bit further back and the ball has more time to rise, I think these TL's forget what its like for us mortals :)

LOL, The SLDR should do it being 9 degree...full b/s and aim at the ellipse shaped hole in the middle of the trees, it goes through with the Nike driver every time...even if you miss hit late/early...I hit the tree(that 1 f'n branch) more trying to cut the corner getting close to the tree unless it is into a headwind.

same thing on #10 but with a 3wd, go through the hole...
