Thanks JB.....yet, membership to what ? A CC bulk price reduction ?

Membership to Wgt.    Pay a set weekly/monthly/yearly fee.  Depending on membership class (diamond, gold, silver...etc)  you will receive a certain amount of golf ball packs that you usually play.

    Or

If a Wgt member you get discounted price for golf balls...   if not a member, then pay the normal price.

Wonder if that is the next Welcome Stranger golden nugget? :)

Pre determined XP grab and members get a % discount?  Hmm would be easy to stuff up if WGT did it not per capita thus dismissing the SME so to speak, or got too silly with XPs, but done sensibly a committed owner staying on top............May be on to something:)

Help ! Exchange rates are something I know nothing about, and the same is true with the "membership" comment. I want to understand the above postings.  ~ SP ~

    Hi SP!

Just like the OP, I live in South Africa. It costs me about R50 to buy a sleeve of Level 48 Nike balls.

To put that in perspective; for R50 you can buy 5 loaves of bread, or about 1 US gallon (3.77 litres) of petrol.

The exchange rate between the South African Rand and the US Dollar is currently about 11.17 Which means that for R11.17 I can get 1 US$

    EDIT:

It is often said (usually by currency traders and 1st year Economics lecturers) that currency values fluctuate on underlying economic fundamentals but my 3 years so far of studying has led me to the inescapable conclusion that whilst to a certain extent that might be true, the vast majority of currency fluctuations are due to sentiment.

    Hey Miffy !

This is interesting. Here in Southern California, in round numbers, a loaf of bread is between $2.00 to $5.00 & a gallon of gasoline (petrol) tip-toes around $4.00, while the Nike balls I use are $7.50 per sleeve. Which seems to validate your view:
