Lets say a 150Yard short green with a 12mph wind in the back. How do I shoot that? It's a bit like #10 @Kaiwan. If it's short it's in the sand if its longer with backspin it shoots over the green...

12 MPPH on a full hit will add 5-7 yards to the distance.  Therefore you are now playing a hole that is 143 yards long. So a 150 yard swing with full backsping and about 95% may be the shot.

Hi there water tight ,any suggestions on how you go about hitting a shot, lets say 160yrds and a 27ft uphill elevation, and an 8mph head wind, what would the yardage  be roughly, taking all of this into account. And  does the same work if the shot was downhill elevation. Please could you explain how you go about this, because i think this is where most of us are going wrong in deciding what clubs to select when your hitting the ball uphill or downhill..... Thanks Cobra4

I'll throw in my 2 cents worth.  Figure the 27 feet to add about 30 more yards and the headwind to add about 10... for a total of 200.  Take your 205 yardage club, put backspin on the ball and hit it for all it's worth.  Even if you go a bit long usually there's less trouble behind the greens.

so basically for every 1ft  uphill or 1ft  downhill you either add a yard or subtract a yard ?

Roughly.  But I would defer to Tibbets or AvatarLee on that one.

Wind will affect each club differenty due to the various lofts.  High lofted clubs will be more susceptible to the wind's effects while lower lofted clubs will have a more penetrating trajectory and won't be affected as much.

Unfortunately, as with most of the features of this game, it's something you just gotta practice with and learn the touch for.  There is no set formula.

And of course, I would also defer to Nivlac.  But not to Hobbes.

ok mocha... let me get it this straight.

For a 160yd shot 27ft uphill into a 8mph wind... you would hit a 205 club with max bs. Is that right?

I will say one thing you better hope there isn't any water behind the green, cause you would be swimming hun.
