    @ topace

+25 to not spending too much $$ on better balls at your current score level.  When people start scoring the in the very low 60's and high 50's then I can see a better ball actually be the cause for a drop in scores (before that practice i think!?).  Hell, I'm still content using a .43 credit WGT Tour-S ball.

    @ Siggi

!!!  I'm going to your profile page now lol.  Eventually I'm going to come around and upgrade balls and your mapping will help!

Trusted it is to folks, as if you expected anything less ;-)

I received from another source the same workings, so double help.

Now to hit that ding and to learn to putt then Fmagnets beware (dream on lol).

Sorry for my ignorant question...  what's the break down of those 8 distances...   are they spin, no spin.. to full b/spin

First 4 numbers are for the 90 ball , then 61 nike.  It's no spin , 1/4 spin , 3/4 spin and full spin

Good stuff Siggi, v nice that the RSi irons allow for many more ball options, im trying the Callaway 34s @ the moment, but might go back to the Nike 61s..

Something to consider in your search for the right combination. Carry is an important number and finding a ball that makes it easy to know what each club can do starts there.

The best instance I can give comes from something I learned about my clubs. With my Vapors, a Tour-SD ball goes what a club is rated for. This is total distance with roll on flat with no wind or spin. The ball I normally use is a 33 Callaway and that goes 3-5 yards longer but the carry is more important to me than the total distance so I learned those with that ball.

When CBay came out I looked at switching to a better ball and in the course of checking out the Nikes, I discovered that, with the 71 Nikes, the carry was equal to the club's rated distance! It's amazingly consistent and makes it a lot easier to plan a shot.

Now spin is used to control what happens to that carry number and the resulting roll after landing. With all the ups and downs at CBay, I find this incredibly useful. It's holding true on the other courses, too.  :-)
