Good stuff Siggi, v nice that the RSi irons allow for many more ball options, im trying the Callaway 34s @ the moment, but might go back to the Nike 61s..
Something to consider in your search for the right combination. Carry is an important number and finding a ball that makes it easy to know what each club can do starts there.
The best instance I can give comes from something I learned about my clubs. With my Vapors, a Tour-SD ball goes what a club is rated for. This is total distance with roll on flat with no wind or spin. The ball I normally use is a 33 Callaway and that goes 3-5 yards longer but the carry is more important to me than the total distance so I learned those with that ball.
When CBay came out I looked at switching to a better ball and in the course of checking out the Nikes, I discovered that, with the 71 Nikes, the carry was equal to the club's rated distance! It's amazingly consistent and makes it a lot easier to plan a shot.
Now spin is used to control what happens to that carry number and the resulting roll after landing. With all the ups and downs at CBay, I find this incredibly useful. It's holding true on the other courses, too. :-)
