  I watched it very carefully from camera angle 2 ... starting and pausing it ...

  If you do this, you will see it hops forward on the first bounce, then on the second bounce it jumps backwards and hits the flagstick which deflects it just enough so that it doesn't drop in the hole ... but it wasn't enough of a collision to shoot it away and the ball stops on the rim of the cup ... without pausing it, it appears to roll over the hole.

  That's a good one. Beats any one that I've had.

  Lately, I've had some close shots just miss, like the one today. But sooner or later one is going to drop and I'll freak out.
