Wow 480 comments and 49 pages of whining and complaining. C'mon people, you waste enough time playing WGT don't pile on by sitting in the freakin WGT forum complaining about something you can't control for hours/days on end. There was no CC conspiracy. There was no 2nd shooter on the grassy knoll and Elvis is not alive. ITS OVER, move on.

To the person with this status update:"Sooooo glad I left ANCC when I did... LMFAO bitches......i., Losers!!*

The feeling is mutual about you leaving the CC. You would sit in the skype chat and talk to yourself for hours on end, nobody wanted to talk to you lol... it was creepy man. peace

Your well thought out responses will be lost on me because I am off to do something meaningful... enjoy your pity party.

I don’t feel bad giving out the Golden Putter because I feel that the member deserved it with his commitment to the game.

But he was not playing the game! He chose to buy and use CC passes to play a private CC tournament called "Best of Putting" - kind of a stupid waste of CC passes, but his choice - but did not buy and use CC passes to play the clash event. Since he did not buy and use CC passes to play the clash event, he must have expected any points mistakenly credited to him in the clash event which he was not playing would be identified and disallowed.

So, WGT, your course is clear.

It is undisputed, and admitted that:

    1) The player was not in fact participating in the competition in question.

    2) The player and the country club knowingly violated the terms and conditions of the tournament.

    3) The player and the country club knowingly violated the terms and conditions of WGT.

You must withdraw the prize and disqualify the club. Just as others who violate the terms and conditions of the site, for example through multiple accounts, forfeit their virtual assets - according to the WGT terms and conditions.

    Take it away!

    End of story.

I'm sorry, but ANCC should be removed and it's owner banned as well as the player who directly violated WGT rules.

You knowingly exploited bugs in the game and you somehow think that's okay? Not only do you think it's okay, you defend it and the player doing it?

Not like this game doesn't have credibility issues as it is, you've completely obliterated any and all of it in one shot. Good job buddy.

A lot of this is on WGT  for sure, they set it up - However ANCC and it's owner maliciously and with forethought sought out to cheat by running up their numbers in violation of site rules. In doing so they caused many players in other CC's to spend money trying to catch them in what ultimately was a futile effort as ANCC could just keep dumping onto their total at a rate no one could match do to violating the rules. Basically you caused financial loss and distress as it applies to real world monies for a great many players on WGT.

WGT really has no choice but to remove the owner from the site and take the club down. This isn't just virtual currency we're talking about, people spent hundreds of dollars in what ultimately was something they had no chance of winning.

Can't even imagine any legit player with any integrity staying there.... Good luck playing wearing that crest or tag.

A game called "find the best cheat" maybe?  I hope the other members of your club, the ones that have been there more than 5min's, are as happy with your decision and their reputation.

    bigseanbig:

I’m am defending my club and my members for what happened.  The purpose of the event was to have players buy and use as many CC Passes as possible in the shortest amount of time.  That was the event set up by WGT.

The CC Clash event gives the impression that it was thought up in a room by a bunch of guys that asked "what's the best way to make as much money as possible out of this event"? "How about lets create a fking Golden putter with "out of this world" stats and hang it above their noses just out of reach and create a event where the only chance of getting that holy grail is to drop shietloads of $ on CC Passes over and over again.

It makes it into a "who can buy the most passes and use them the fastest" and we only did exactly what WGT wanted us to do and made a mockery out of the event. Why would WGT let an event go live without test it first?

Here are the reasons we won and what contributed most to our win based on the system WGT set up:

    1)     Huge 250 member club with a few very committed members that could play for 14 hours straight

    2)     Basically unlimited cash and credits to burn

    3)     Finding the BoP

This is the event WGT set up

People say without doing the BoP, we wouldn’t have won and that in finding the loophole we had an advantage, and yes we did have an advantage.  However, if we didn’t find the BoP loophole (someone was going to find it eventually), we would have used ULTRA SPEED UP BOOST for every shot and it would have only taken slightly longer than BoP each round and would have given us the same speed advantage (we thought why do that and give WGT more money, not to mention hits on balls) and people would probably call that “cheating” as well.

The same guy that played 59 rounds of BoP could have played over 100 rounds of a normal 9 hole course (and would have for that putter) with ULTRA SPEED UP BOOST in the time allowed because he calculated it and had the time to play.  We could have gotten over double the amount of points we put up even playing normal 9-hole courses because we had multiple people playing day and night and dropping passes like crazy. The only reason we stopped was because we were well ahead.

I don’t feel bad giving out the Golden Putter because I feel that the member deserved it with his commitment to the game. The only thing i feel bad about is not being able to give a Golden Putter to all my members that participated or anyone else that participated. If you want to know how great the putter is here is a quote “putter doesnt help really lol oh well it looks cool” so next time don’t get sucked in to WGT’s advertising and hype.  I myself had exams so I didn’t participate at all in the event but congratulate my club for winning this “WGT event” if you can call it that.

As a club owner you condone this? I'm speechless.

I haven't read past this. I'm assuming your character has been called into question.

Would you like to know what I would have done had I owned a club with a new member who was cheating?

    Hit that little oust button.

BsB I do not know you and you say you taking exams so perhaps a little young still.  Don't be offended by the latter as that happens to us all as does getting older:)..I am also pretty sure we all have things we could have thought through better.  Read your reasonings and no clue who the player who got the putter is as far as real person goes.  Benefit of the doubt here what you got wrong was that this was not a Uni laugh with a few close friends, and beer after.

Others went for this in good faith, and also worked hard.  Your CC took this with poor camaraderie to the community, and disregard to sportsmanship.  Complicit and ignorant as the sponsor was it is still very wrong.

If I were you I would think on all that, and perhaps apologise to all for a large mistake.  WGT I doubt will do it, but their ignorance does not have to be replicated by you.  Up to you but that's my view for you and the member who joined you yesterday (without any feel for him at all).

All that it takes for the dishonest men to prevail is for the honest men to do nothing. If you have some decent players who are willing to go to a little trouble to stop dishonesty, then good for them.

Keep at it, folks. We will prevail.

It's the Columbus Day holiday in America. Let's see if WGT doesn't do a little inquiry and enforcement when they get back to work on Tuesday. I doubt they want to see their game and their business devalued like this. Can't see what would be in it for them to stand behind these cheaters.

So as a new player reading this thread my takeaway is that every member of the Augusta National Cheater's Club thinks that exploiting glitches is not only acceptable, but worthy of reward and accolades.

Can I get a golden putter if I join your gang and reveal I lied about my age while signing up?
