    LOL

My gosh guys, oh well…myself I spent what …2-3$ with passes, if that on the clash, it was what it was and sure enough some guy figured it out and was able to accumulate the points needed and how to obtain what? a friggin overpriced putter? or a wall of shame?

He can enjoy the putter ALONE and WGT can keep on trying to make something i'm sure they originally intended too, but was unable to…..

Move on and hit the fairways straight and just enjoy each other and the game itself :)

Basically what it looks like they're (wgt) doing is what they always do. Sit back, let people vent then ignore it... game on as usual after the uproar.

I think this is a bit different, don't you?  This really isn't WGT, well it is as I said they setup the tournament. They obviously knew there was this 'flaw' in it, because if they're trying to say they didn't, well that's almost worse with respect to addressing their gross incompetence. Their response to the situation is certainly all on them, and they really should think on it. This involves thousands of dollars, which people spent in an event which they were led to believe was put on in good faith and fairness. Clearly not the case.

Unless someone finds a PM or email whereby WGT let ANCC in on this 'flaw', that "This is how you can dump points on etc etc etc...." This is all on ANCC and the owner. They actively sought out and once they found it, started exploiting the hole in the setup, knowing full well what the outcome was going to be.

Most of us obviously have friends at other CC's, how the f**k the owner and anyone else who knew what was going on at ANCC had the gall to chat or talk with these people/friends is beyond me. You know they're spending credits chasing your CC trying to catch up and you know, and probably laughing about it the whole time, that there isn't a chance in hell they're going to be able to. All the while those players in other CC's are spending a lot of money on CC passes and balls.

There are all sorts of ways to describe this... Most will get one banned from posting and probably from playing.

Oh, and well said Jim, Romax...

WGT will have to disqualify the CC that finished first. I'm surprised that didn't happen right away, but I believe they will end up having no choice.

Longer term, I truly hope that this will finally motivate WGT to commit to a real pre-release QA process. That's what real software development companies do. Why put yourself in a position to have to fight these kinds of post release fires? There are scores or hundreds or maybe thousands of willing pre-release testers in this community. Use them!

    bigseanbig:
People say without doing the BoP, we wouldn’t have won and that in finding the loophole we had an advantage, and yes we did have an advantage.  However, if we didn’t find the BoP loophole (someone was going to find it eventually), we would have used ULTRA SPEED UP BOOST for every shot and it would have only taken slightly longer than BoP each round and would have given us the same speed advantage (we thought why do that and give WGT more money, not to mention hits on balls) and people would probably call that “cheating” as well.

So, you're basically saying that you would've won if you were playing by the rules anyway, it would've just taken more time, funds and effort on your part. When did you start playing WGT, Lance? And how can you write that with a straight face, ffs

Well, no, we wouldn't. We reserve the word "cheating" to apply to cheating. Using a speed-up boost is not cheating. How could you expect to get credit for playing a clash event while not playing the clash event, but playing your own private country club tournament on a different course, different format?

I thought for a moment that perhaps you gave the Gold Putter to the miscreant to dispel the shame of the thing, that the only decent thing when you discovered that your club was cheating was to decline the prize, while the next-best was to award the prize to the chief cheater himself so that he would have to bear the stigma that went with it.

    Apparently I was too generous.

    DQ, dude!

There is no version of this where you, as the owner of ANCC, come out with any integrity or community respect.

    None. That window closed.

Give them time. It's the Columbus Day weekend. Let them drill down through the data and the logic and they'll come to the right decision in due course.

Wow you guys are still on here.  How about resolved this issue with WGT instead of calling people out.  I didn't even participate in the Clash event and found out we won when a WGTadmin messaged me about that retarded putter everyone is freaking out about.

I'm not going to deny someone a putter just because I have the ability to. I have nothing to gain by what I did and it shouldn't be my moral obligation to deny someone a putter just because WGT designate me to make that decision, which by the way makes no sense (Rewards should be awarded objectively by a points system and not my me).

In the end, no one is getting their credits back.  Glad I didn't spend any.
