    alberich35:

I am always suspicious of people who give lessons in morality. Their good faith is not always obvious and rarely foolproof.

In fact, among the proud owners of TM R1 level 93, how many have reached this level without using the trick of course by 3 ? And how many of them were banished for cheating?

I own said driver, but I have no idea what you mean by "using the trick of course by 3 " - enlighten me please.

JFYI, I was L92 when this offer started, and I played damned hard for a while to make L93 to get this.

    Steve

Edit: a search back through the archives has revealed all!

No, I didn't use that "trick", in fact I never even knew it existed. I gather that particular loophole is now closed though.

Interestingly, a member of our CC (a L120 legend!) mentioned a while ago that he'd levelled up using a trick, which I assume must have been this. That rang a few alarm bells, and a bit of research revealed him to also be a multi account holder; he's no longer in our CC ;-)

so what happened to the results of the event? Before I went to bed  having won the first 3 clashes, my club was in 34th position and engaged in the final 4th clash with a few hours left in the event . When I woke up there was nothing. No results, no rewards, just an empty space.

Did WGT just decide the easiest way to cover up their monumental ***-up was to delete all traces of it. I don't mind that so much as not having an answer for my members who are asking "what happened to our results?" and "where are the winnings?".

I, just as Wil did, will defend the CC. This being said, I'll share a message I posted to the ANCC forum: ********************************************************************************************** Well. for what it's worth..... this is precisely why Golf (The Sport) has always been considered a gentlemanly game, a game where the players police themselves, a game where one is expected to acknowledge his foul and penalty. But in this instance, it's all virtual................ and I have come to understand there is a very different mindset between the virtual WGT world and reality. I played (and paid for) 6 rounds on the first event..... and quickly realized it was a mere "cash cow" situation... that's when I decided to bail out. I know round #1 was legit..... but have no clue regarding the balance of the rounds; and quite frankly... don't want to know. Regardless of whether "rules were broken", or "loopholes exploited", or some "grand scheme"... the bottom line is, we've now become labeled. The majority of the membership will carry on as usual with little to no issues; however, Sean (who didn't even participate) is now labeled as well as Cadavair (Pardon the spelling, as I do not know you). This is unfortunate, because Sean is a really nice guy and I'm quite certain Cadavair is, as well. I don't know the solution for this mess. If the Grand-Master-GPS-Lazer Putter is in fact as quoted "putter doesn't help really lol oh well it looks cool"...... then maybe flushing the turd is the answer. The putter itself is the root of the issue...... As I wrote to Sean earlier, "The salt rub is the comment of “putter doesnt help really lol oh well it looks cool"..... Nobody on WGT's ever gonna believe that. That's pretty much on the same level as saying...."Sorry for stealing the Kobe Steaks and Lobsters....... but it's ok, they didn't taste good".... Sorta feel bad for the guy......... from this point forward, he wears a label, and it's not a badge of honor." I even offered to chip in credits to make Cadavair "whole" for the credits he spent participating.... should he decide to flush the magic turd...... but that's not my decision. I blame no-one for this mess except WGT...... they created a situation (and a bad one at that)..... for the sake of a money grab. Very consistent with a child's class fundraiser, where the children are whipped up into a frenzy----- raise a ton of money---- and are awarded $12.99 worth of pizza for their efforts. Sound familiar or similar folks? Hell, I'd much rather have the pizza than the chitty ultra boost.......... Anyway.... certainly NO fingers pointed from my perspective...... but, as mentioned, I do feel bad for the "few" that are bearing the bulk of the abuse, blame, and fault. ********************************************************************************************** When considering the entire perspective.......... Did anyone really think this new venue was to be perfect? Hell, I read negative post's after each WGT update, why would one consider this to be any different? As a few other WGTr's have stated, perhaps a "testing period" to expose any potential problems would have been better suited prior to release. A fixed game venue for all players sees to be a no brainer..... unfortunate this was not considered. In regards to the "Willy Wonka" putter...... who cares? I'm just an "average at best" player............... but when you look at the premier players, these folks can shoot low 50's (at will). Bottom line is...... nothing will take the place of experience and skill.................certainly not a gold putter. It has been said that other CC's were involved in this "loophole"...... I don't know and I really don't care......something WGT needs to address with their programming. I've been around for 14 months, and have given away well in excess of 50,000 credits worth of merchandise to friends and random others.... so being labeled a "cheat" and/or "scammer", is certainly disheartening. That's not who I am, and that's not what my CC is about. It's a shame this has progressed to a ridiculous level, in particular when "Shot Master"... "Auto Dingers" and any number of other "Cheat Programs" exist in this arena.............. Thanks for your time.......... Danny

And WGT never took back those XP - I suspect that probably answers the question about whether they will now remove the "loophole" scores and prizes from the Clash...

    NO.

    WGTadmin:

    Hey WGTers,

WGT would like to thank you all for participating in the first CC vs CC event that ran for the past 24 hours. We know there are some kinks and issues to fix and we will be making those updates before another event is run.

Also, we know there was an issue in the system where playing a game outside of a Clash would earn points for your club if it was involved in a Clash. Although this behavior was not intended it was not against the rules. That being said, we will be changing the rules for all future Events so this will not be allowed and points will only be earned while playing in a Clash game.

Again, thank you for all of the feedback and forum posts.

    WGT

    Translation:

We would like to thank all of you for participating in our scam and making us lots of $$$ by shelling out for passes. We know you guys think we completely cocked up by releasing an event prematurely that was riddled with problems but the $ signs were already in our eyes and MisterWGT was cracking the whip, so you guys were already screwed.

We'll try to look at some of the issues and not shaft you guys so hard next time, though it was fun for a first date.

Also we know about that massive 'loophole'. LOL. Wasn't that a kick to the face? So many of you like the proverbial donkey reaching for that golden 'putter shaped' carrot thought buying all those passes would get you somewhere? LMAO, no you were screwed from the beginning. Our developers (bless them) thought it would be fun to leave that one in there and watch the bloodbath unfold. TBH we don't care whether you win by fair of foul means as long as you keep spending.

That being said, we realize that the developers idea 'loophole' might have gone a bit too far (those mischevious devils) so we'll knock that one on the head for next time.

Again we thank you for all your kind words about us, we don't listen to anything you guys say and I'd like to say we appreciate the time you take writing to express your opinions but really we don't. We don't have the humility or decency to make an apology...so we won't.

Don't hold your breath waiting for another response from us, we seldom respond.

And finally please remember you are our valued customer.

    WGT

    Dear Mr WGT

First of all may I congratulate you on bring us a new feature into WGT.

Sadly it all went wrong for you and your team and as you can see from this forum post along with all the others we are not happy with the outcome for 2 reasons and 2 reasons only

1: Someone found a loophole and gained an advantage by doing so by his own admission (See his post) and yet you paid out without looking into it. By your terms and conditions you broke your own rule which is “Exploit any bug in the Site to gain unfair advantage in the game and communicate the existence of any such bug.”

2: We feel cheated out of buying passes and using our balls in taking part in something we were never going to win because you messed up

So why don’t you re-fund everyone who took part in it and bought passes and maybe a free set of balls per member who took part and put it down to a bad few days business.

But I fail to understand why it went wrong when you have 2000+ members who are more than willing to help you iron out bugs before you introduce a new feature into your game.

Next time try it this way

Make it free the first time and ask us to find bugs

If we find some fix them and try again free of charge

Once all the bugs are fixed go ahead and charge us

In saying all that this is still one of the best games on the Internet of you enjoy golf .

I have also posted in our club forum and sent a letter to all club members not to take part in the next one until it has been fixed 100%

A reply would not go a miss Mr WGT or any admin who read this reply
