Ya gotta learn to think 'out of the box' more...............

      :))))

I sure hope that    :)))))  is the same as  ;-). I don't want to think you're serious.

Not the newbie naive typer I used to be Jim

One more ) than I used, and as you know...

Would never feel the need to justify any post but....

    Because it's you ;)

^^ That's how I felt about the reply to a post that didn't sink in fully, due to 'sanctimonious seepage' into the bone marrow, which has reached Pandemic proportions and seems to inhibit normal Brain function.  :((

"No one knew the rules... huh?  I played the event.  I hit "play club clash" and I played the course that I was taken too. "

Us too, we must have hit the wrong button.

Last time I checked multi-accounting is also a wgt sin.  Quit hiding behind a fake account ya hypocrite.

I wonder if anytime a CC pass was used for any particular round, (non Clash round) the XP's were added to the Clash total?

Dunno in general, but I remember a remark from the active thread during the clash stating that a round on Bethpage with a pass but outside the clash would have counted.

Most likely every time anyone used a pass, it counted for the clash. I know I used one on the clash, saw there was no point in playing it, then used the next free one I got on a bracket round (more XP points for the CC level). I guess it counted. But I can surely say that no member of our CC had any idea rounds like this could count towards the clash standings. And I'm sure nobody would even think about setting up a tourney outside the designated clash window to get ahead. There a difference between accidentally contributing points to the event and milking the damn loophole dry.

@ Andy The rules were clear as day to all who read the clash intro. It clearly stated how you start a clash, how you get the points and it clearly states it's only to be played on designated courses. The rest are excuses.

Sorry but, I beg to differ,

..............see all the pages of posts @ the beginning to see how clear it was..

Read them 5 times and was still confused..

Mensa should revoke my membership ?

Half the CCs owners didn't and don't still.....know who the hell started the clash in their CC to begin with, nevermind the rules there within.

I repeat ......MUD not Day  !

LMAO. Phew. Never can be sure.  And I remember the hated John (at the time) as he slowly overtook favorite Jimmy Conners for the #1 spot. Most obnoxious player back then.  :-)

Out of pure boredom, I'll leap in here.. I'm no rocket scientist.. but it was clear to me how to play a game in the clash. There was a button on the game client that led me directly into the assigned course to play. I bought a few passes and played 4-5 games I believe.. never occurred to me to play on different course. If I had, I wouldn't have used one of my passes as I bought them to use in the clash games only. There's no defending what happened. Certain clubs and individual members exploited the competition and they knew what they were doing. That said, it's over now.. Let it go.

I agree it's time to let it go, some well known clubs have been tarnished here but ultimately WGT are to blame for a poorly implemented idea, which could have been good with a little more thought.

What was the need, they made it a simple as it could be. You just had to click on the clash banner and it started searching an opponent, no do you want to do this, yes, no, it just started. After that just click play, the lines were clear as day to me and those that colored outside them knew what they were doing.

    WGT News 10/9/2014

Each Club Clash will be played on nine-holes at either Bethpage Black, Kiawah or St Andrews. Post as many good rounds as you can for your country club, using either a Club Pass or a new Superpass to multiply your points. Winning clubs receive additional bonus points, and the top club wins the new MAX CC Putter.”

    WGT FAQs Page

“How do I compete in a Club Clash?

Once your country club is engaged in a Clash, you will receive an email, and a popup message will alert you it has begun. Enter the Club Event by going to your Club’s Homepage and clicking the Club Event Banner. Compete in a Club Game by clicking the Play Game button on the Club Event main page. Participating requires a Club Pass or Superpass.”

The basics seem quite clear to me.  Maybe those mensa folks should have a second look.

I'm not surprised that many club owners and members didn't understand the rules.

Surely nobody on this site would intentionally cheat. LMAO

    Dave
