I will be checking all the scores out and will name every club that has cheated
Sod them all you cheated your club will be named!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not so easy to decide who deliberately cheated, and who simply got swept up in it.
For example, our CC originally had no intention (at least, from the organiser's perspective) of getting involved in the clash. However, as it was open to anyone to initiate it, we found ourselves in it anyway.
Then, even players that had no intention of playing any clash matches ( and I include myself here) played other, regular games, but had our scores applied to the clash anyway. I don't even know which of my games counted, but I do know I somehow scored 55 points towards our team total.
So yes, I played non-clash games, and was awarded points for them - did I cheat? No.
Could it LOOK like I cheated? Well maybe. And I'm sure there will be tens of thousands of other players in similar situations. Where do you draw the line? Had someone played 10 straight CTTH rounds, which many of our CC members do regularly, would that look even more like they were cheating? Probably, but it would still have been completely innocent.
I fully accept that the more outrageous examples are easy to spot, but there is a whole range of possibilities down from there, to the likes of me, and where you draw the line between deliberate cheating and accidental, unintended scoring in the clash is quite beyond me.
Anyone setting themselves up as Judge, Jury, and Executioner has to be able to answer that question clearly from the start, but I don't believe a clear answer is possible.
I think this witch hunt needs to be dropped. In-fighting will get us nowhere. The real "culprits" here are WGT, so let's not forget that.
