I have used 3 different browsers (Opera, maxthon, comodo) and still have serious meter issues.  I updated flash player and it totally screwed up the meter so I uninstalled it and reinstalled.  Worked for a brief time but again the meter is jerky and jumpy.  The meter working properly is vital to the enjoyment of this game.  I'm hoping WGT can remedy this.  Otherwise I may become just another FORMER WGT player and my $ goes bye vye.

Use your Task Manager to see all the services you have running. Stop anything that is not needed, like programs that update in the background. Using a game booster helps to stop unneeded stuff as well.

    I feel for you Girn,

This topic, as you can imagine, has more threads than it does answers, but for the sake of it, this is what I do (Before Each Time I play)

    1) Close down any programs that may be running! This includes putting antivirus (I use Comodo) into "Game Mode"

    2) Disable "Windows Automatic Updates"

    3) Clear any browser history (I use Mozilla Firefox)

    4) Clear Adobe Flash Player of everything except "media5.wgt.com"

    5) Take some time out to clear away as much unnecessary "Stuff" you may have using up space on your hard drive! I have something like 3% usage, the rest being free!

    6) De fragment your hard drive at least once a week!

    7) Perform "Disc Clean Up" before you De fragment!

If none of the above helps, it may be an idea to consider updating your "Graphics Card" to something like NVIDIA or similar spec!

I hope at least one of the above suggestions helps!

    Peace & Happy Golfing hopes!

    OTF

As ZioMio  stated game booster can help and G Boost can help as well. I find G Boost to be slightly better on my PC than game booster, but both do a good job at smoothing out the meter,

Though it might work OK, you do not need an older Flash Player version, but you do need to disable the PepperFlash version on the Chrome plug-ins page - chrome://plugins/

    Disable this - C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\38.0.2125.104\PepperFlash\pepflashplayer.dll

Enable this - C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_15_0_0_152.dll or get it.

There are other things you can do at your end to get a Smooth Meter.
