    Hi,

I'm near level 89 (which unlock the last wedge TaylorMade ATV) and i'm asking a question : What's the better ? Cleveland CG16 or TaylorMade ATV...

There's 0,5 less of precision with ATV but 1,0 more of forgiveness... There's 0,5 less spin but i don't think spin of 4,5 is really necessary.

Finally and for my poor reflexes, there's 0,5 more of precison with ATV that seems a lot.

I usually play with WGT GI3-S balls...

What is your opinion ??? (perhaps i can also wait a free rentals week-end)

More spin on Clevelands but the ATV's are easier to control. The 50 yard ATV is my favourite club.

Looks like he went with the CGs.

Yes, he did :-|  By looking at his other clubs, he made a mistake. He should have gone with the ATVs. He will soon over-dose on back-spin & slight, late hits.

Heh. Was going to point out meter speeds. Instead of going with the same speed wedges he went with the faster ones. FWIW, matching meter speeds from driver to wedge makes a huge difference in tempo. I have one speed off the tee in the driver and the same speed for every other shot.  :-)

p.s., I could make everything the same speed but that R1 is just too forgiving to let go.

edit: Jim beat me to it  :)         ↑↑      ↑↑

    By-gone topic, now, perhaps...

But FWIW the ATV's meter speed matches the Nike 85s you seem to be using. (3.5)

I like the Nike 85s and use them a lot and I wanted to learn the ATVs and put my Cleves in storage. (The Cleves meter rating is faster at 3, but that can match the Nike 97i)

I didn't learn the ATVs to my liking so I didn't use the creds to get a set.

But, agreed w/ SP, those Cleves are spin-a-licious, and as I finished a round with a starter ball, as my Nike ball ran out, I reminded myself that a Cleves can do a great job of backing up even the 'rock' as the ball rolled away from the hole.  ouch!

The 50yd ATV is a magic wand, not a golf club. ;)

Maybe someone can help me out here. I have toyed with the idea of getting the clevelands that carry to 80 & 100 yds to replace my ATVs. I have the cleveland that carries to 60 yds and love that i can stop the ball as well as back it up when need be. It comes in handy from close range at times. From farther out though, i kinda like the control the ATVs offer. My question is how much of a problem is controlling the backspin with the clevelands . Any help would be much appreciated.

I wouldn't say it is a problem as much as it is a tool that is available, but rarely needed at full throttle. Cleve spin, both top & back is extremely responsive to carefull, precise application,
