I made it to TL yet I still have rounds that are disgraceful.  Often missing putts of 5 to 10 with regularity.  My average distance from the hole is nearing 12 feet so almost 1/2 of my putts are under 10 feet.  I often miss 3 and 4 foot putts that have big breaks.

My question is of other TL's.  Am I expecting to much?  What can I do to putt like other TL's?  I play with a couple and they almost never miss putts inside 10 feet.  Someone please tell me how this is possible.

    Thank you

Gerry i understand you, i'm not tour legend (on december i think i will be), but i have lots of problem with approachs and putts, to find consistency.

When i score good i say to myself good michel but your game still  fragile.  You still miss 60% or 70%  of dings at least, your approach  are too long from the holes overall and your putting skill well i'm not a gift player. I still  need the  help of  luck with my good rounds  and i can't reproduce   very good round so often.

I miss so many putts, i try hard, very hard to play good, i'm hard with myself but seems i don't have the skill required and sometime too i loose my motivation and almost giving up like you.

In the same case i still  look at videos of greats players and  admire  their score, they are all i'm not,   champions.

Just sorry i can't help you i wish to be  better myself and i don't know how to do it like you .

    Michel 2/10 in english

Michel 4/10 with his golf play

    Hey Guys,,

Firstly i wanna say , i like the honesty of this post.

So true, it is frustrating when you miss putts. We, see the great players their scores of 55,54. .etc and then we question ourselves, what is that is lacking in our game.

Well the answer is easy..  The TIME devoted to the game..

Look at their strokeplay rounds played..  minimum over 5000,, maybe 10,000..   Top 10 in tourneys over 3000..

I mean these guys, play WGT for more than 40hrs a week.. i heard one top TL,  once mentioned, he spent over 40hrs for quiet sometime to this game..

    ------------------------

I play real golf, thats what got me to this game.. trust me it is soo much more frustrating, i have seen people breaking their clubs in front of me.

After all this is a game, takes time to learn and be perfect, you have to devote soo much time, to get the success you want to see...

No one is skilled, you go to develop the skill, and once you develop, then respect it.. :)

Thank you mushy, you're kind with me.

At least one think i'm good you're so right lol

I try to explain with objectivity and sincerity my state of mind playing the game with the good, bad and frustrating things along the way.

Akash i know  some players  play a lot, but still for the very best they have  not only the work part but also   the  superior skill.

Some  players  can play  like them everyday, 5, 6h or more but not have the  same skill to hit so many dings and read the putts so well.

The right combination is work, learn all  the shots and skill, when all that is regroup,  you become  wonderfull player.

I  still like the game and i'm not the worse  player on wgt,  I would like to continue  progressing  little by little step by step in my game  but one things is certain also i  don't have enough skills to read well the putts and hit dings regularly.

The point is when you see the same kinda putts over and over again,,  you will miss 10 times but 11th time you'll make it..

WGT just got like what 14 strokeplay courses,,   playing a course 500times,,  no matter if you paying attention while playing or not.. but your brain registers everything...  next time you get that putting line,,  you just get a feeling, that you can make the putt.  and thats when you start making putts.

All the top Lengends and Tour Legends, have played soo much. that now even if they dont play a lot, still they can make those key putts, .. 5ft, 10ft etc..

    Talking about DING,..

no one needs to hit 100% ding to score a 54..  even if you make 70% dings,  ..  In the missed dinged shots, if you make 4 out of those 5 , 15-20ft putts..  you still birdie 4 out of those 5 missed dinged shots..

Ultimately its the PUTTING that separates a 54 and 60.  Anyone would agree with me on that. and only way to master putting is by playing a looooot.. :)

So DONT GIVE UP ANYONE..  IF YOU KEEP AT IT..  YOU"LL EVENTUALLY START SCORING THOSE LOW 50's without knowing ///:)))

It's what makes this a great game. Imagine how boring it would be if you mastered it.

You just made it to Tour Legend Gerry, give it some time and practice, you'll soon get there. I've played with you many times and you're an excellent player. I think you're just  trying too hard and being too hard on yourself.

     Patience is a Virtue :)

Maybe courtney is right but  i think the great players still enjoy making and reproduce great scores and not missing too much shots or putts.

All depends our personal  objectif, maybe gerry is like me, we try so hard to  be good like them, but we can't.

We still enjoy very much the game, just wish to progress lol
