I bought a set of green Volvik balls at the start of a round because I had only 1 orange Volvik left. (I wanted to try a new color.) When the orange ball was lost I was defaulted to the standard issue balls. WTG? Why aren't these treated as the same type of ball? They are both Volvik's & both cost me 4 credits & both have the same specs. So what's different?

Come on WGT this has to be a bug.

Well this, in terms of programming, is quite ridiculous...

Colour should be a property of the object exactly like the amount of spin, distance, and so... treating a property as a unique object seems only a way to make more money, or a bad programming choice...

Ya know......I 'm a thinking, that I have to agree with the poster here.

I think WGT should double check the rules ----or even call a PGA rules person to find out can a player use a different color ball from the same manufacturer ---and stats on the ball.  This is a real good question. They play by PGA rules here, and I'm just too lazy to find out on my own.

But let's say  your using a Nike ball ---you lose it--- it was your last one---and the only other Nike's you have left in your bag has different stats, of course in this case you cannot use those and will be moved back to starter balls.

But balls from the same mfg. --same stats--but just a difference in color should be allowed IMHO.

Not according to the USGA and that is whose rule the one ball condition is based on. Just go to USGA.com and check the conforming ball list. Every Volvik ball is listed separately showing that each color is considered a different ball type. There are 29 or 30 separate balls listed as 29 or 30 ball types and most are just because they are a different color.

As far as I know, everything sold anywhere is a SKU (stock keeping unit). Imagine taking a  black cashmere sweater back to exchange for a taupe one, and being handed a yellow one and told they are all the same.

Yellow cashmere... well that would suit Mr Hpurey juuuuuuust fine now wouldn't it?

On a more serious note, who the hell would exchange black for taupe? I mean c'mon really? That's just silliness!

Speaking of Volvik's .... pfffft.... They remind me of weighted dice, I mean they almost wobble when putting, swear you can see it.
