It probably wouldn't have been the way I'd have gone, but maybe they want to show they can win it without "cheating".

Before the stupidity of this discussion goes beyond boundaries unimaginable, let me tell you Shoe that ur waffling on about QA testing and developers time is just not right.

I am a computer programmer, have been for many a year, and I know that a relese of any program requires testing, this has not happened with this farcical attempt at CC clashes.

All u had to do was set up two CC's and two usernames and test this shite.

U obviously did not do that.

U r full of bollucks, simple as that.

A golden putter for just 1 member of the club. I'm sorry Wgt but you are going to have to do much better than that.

If WGT are going to persist with what I would consider a bizarre event, particularly offering a prize of this ludicrous putter, then instead of the 'gold putter', award the winning CC the 400000 credits (the value WGT has priced it on this site).

Let the owner distribute the credits to each of its members in proportion to their participation and contribution to the event or alternatively distribute the credits amongst the CC's that finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc...as WGT does for the regular tourneys.

WGT might find that, while in addition to addressing the other issues raised in the forums relating to this event, it may bring back a sense of fairness that has been seriously lacking........

As it stands I would not have the slightest interest in ever participating in this event.....

    :-)

Yes, good idea.  Shoe mentioned earlier that they only sold $3,800 of passes, therefore distributing $4,000 of credits would shoot them in the foot, thats why probably they dish out a fancy putter to one player (a player who all ready wins enough without it, who does not need it AND OBTAINED IT BY CHEATING! - fair, my a55)  BUT, if they maybe did dish out  100,000 credits to winning CC,  75,000 to 2nd and 50,000 to 3rd (or a touch more credits through out)  I think even more might buy passes generating even more income and generating more profit and also more credit prizes.  OR JUST SCRAP PAYING FOR PASSES and get sponsored CC CLASHES and dish out credits like the tour events!!!

Personally I think a gold putter that only a mythical few have, and some silly quest to get one belong at the candy crush stype shop, and it's only derogatory to a serious gold site - being polite.

Swapping credits for it though, on anything approaching this set up, would be throwing bio-ethanol fuel on a barbeque.

EDIT:  I think the authorities might really get interested quick in this place if they did that.

My main objection to this putter is that those that have it are not mythical.

I am trying my best to get closer to the really good players and wgt make vastly superior equipment available to them, either by giving it as a prize or selling it to them.  The price is obviously out of the reach of most but some have that number of credits lying around, and they are already the best.

I used it Metaphorically and loosely and tongue in cheek only way.  Thought that was obvious, but lets not do a discussion on it.

Anyway literally it's a ill contrived method to gain a piece of equipment that has no place here.  The way it is awarded in no way means you have to be very good to get it, but if you are that good and have it then who know's maybe in actuality it gives something extra final score wise.  That bit concerns me, rightly or wrongly, way less than the so termed competition which I consider a euphemism at best, and the final prize which I consider a nonsense on a high class golf site.

EDIT: your concern as to attributes that may translate in to score is valid even if it is more perception than actuality, or not as the case may be.  I fully understand why some, right or wrong, will look on it as you do and that can't be good in the long run.  We don't need to argue it's actual effect or not though here, but your point is certainly part of why IMO the game absolutely needs it not.
