  Round 2 between woodsy747 and geordieles Result geordieles 1 up

  

  It was great to finally meet and play Andrew although i think it fair to say we both were nt at our best in this match,Andrew won 10 th with a fine bird then i had a spell making birds on 11,13 and 14 to go 2 up.Andrew made a good par on 15 to pull one back and we both had good chances on last 3 to win the holes but all just missed so all halved.

  A tight match which could have went either way.

  Pleasure playing Andrew hope to do it again soon

  Gr8 game Les tyvm :)) fun match and could have gone either way but Les played some gr8 shots and jagged a couple of super putts and was the winner 1up well played mate catch up soon.

  Secopnd round with Tom. Was a hard game. Both play well tee to green, but both were really bad with putters, lol. Finally, Tom had a metered with driver in first extra hole that decided match. Sorry Tom and was a pleasure play with you sir. We will see you soon

  Thanks Mauro,

  A very sad way to end a fantastic (if not high quality) battle. Couldn't do much more on the greens, they just simply wouldn't drop no matter what we tried. Your one on 17 was a particularly bad example and I simply couldn't take advantage of that in the spirit of things.

                                      Saturday 12th of February

                                       PLAYOFF TOURNAMENTS

  As per this season's schedule, starting on 21st of Feb there will be 2 playoff tournaments.  The rules & format for these tournaments are as follow:

  DEUTSCHE BANK CHAMPIONSHIP (21st - 27th of Feb)

  ELIGIBILITY -  All players who have played at least 1 tournament this season can participate.   You can check by clicking on the List of Registered Players link from the above section and if your name is NOT highlighted then you're definitely in the field.

  WGA POINTS - Triple (3 x) the WGA regular tournament points.  Points earned here is added to your accumulated season's points up till now, thus a good finish here can give you a big boost towards making the Top 20 in the standing and hence qualify for the season ending Tour Championship.

  FORMAT - 2 rounds of 9-hole & a round of 18-Hole stroke play with cut made after 2 rounds

  BMW CHAMPIONSHIP (28th - 6th of March)

  ELIGIBILITY -  

   

  • Players who have made the cut in the Deutsche bank Championship
  • Players in the Top 20 of WGA Points Standing as at the start of the Deutsche Bank Championship

   

  WGA POINTS - Triple (3 x) the WGA regular tournament points.  Points earned here is added to your accumulated season's points up till now, thus giving the players outside the Top 20 in the standing a last opportunity to qualify for The Tour Championship.

  FORMAT - 2 rounds of 9-hole & a round of 18-Hole stroke play with NO cut line.

  The playoffs are set up to provide plenty of excitement and with the huge pressure on the players to perform well to advance further, there's many surprises and also heartaches installed.  It's crunch time for all so step up a gear and play your best, good luck everyone !

  Played my game with Bigknight and i lost in second extra hole. Was a fantastic game with a great start to Big! . He mades 5 birdies in six holes and miss only hole 6 a put from 4.5 feets because he thought that game was with tournament speed, lol. Then i could win hole 9 and went to extra holes but a bad third shot in par 5 killed me.

  QUARTERFINAL MATCH

  BigKnight v Villadeoro Kiawah Front Nine

  Wow Mauro(Villa) is such a fantastic player....her strong reputation preceded her, and she is every bit the top player, both in game, and in spirit. We went TWO EXTRA holes on this one...

  We both birdied 1,2 and 3...her second metered on #4 and left her short of the greenside bunkers....i had a good distance and finished 5 feet above the cup...she took the pin out and tried to chip in,,ball simply released on her too far, and she just missed the comebacker, guiiving me the 1up lead....then on 5 i was fortunate to hit the right distance and my tee shot finished 2 feet from the cup...Villa's ran past about 15 and she just missed the birdie effort...BK2up.....on #6, we were both inside of 5 feet...however with the left to right i had (and the fact that i forgot we were on VF greens) mine missed right...Villa made hers....BK 1up...we then both birdied #7 and both parred #8...two good drives on nine...Villa's approach ran out to the back right of the green, mine stopped 7 feet below the hole...SHE MADE THE PUTT!!! flat out the best putt i've ever seen on WGT...over 30 feet...downhill left to righter and it was in all the way!!! WOW...so then i promptly lipped mine...match all square...both birdied 1...on #2 Villa's third ran out just past the hole about 8 feet, but she had that NASTY sidehiller we all hate..and she just missed it...i was 3 feet away with a little straighter line, and drained it to take the match!

  Bigknight wins 1up on 2nd extra hole

  

  

   THOROUGHLY enjoyed the match Mauro..you are truly and asset to this Tour...i hope we can go around again on day soon!

  Sorry Frank .. there is no tour that starts 2/13.    The playoffs begin for those 140 golfers who have participated for the last 4 months.     Maybe next year ...

  Scorecard for my round 2 match with Kurtsbuford -

  

  Sorry for holding up things a little but since Kurt's been chasing senoritas down in Mexico he's been hard to chase down ! 

  Good game that was with me jumping out to a fast start thanks to a bit of luck as Kurt had some real tough side hill putts.  Then we matched birds for birds the next few holes and Kurt was again unlucky with the putter and almost won the 15th after a very nice approach shot.  Again on th 16th Kurt had a chance to cut my lead but his putt just slided by the edge of the hole and the match was pretty much over.

  Thanks for the game Kurt, it wasn't easy for him as he was not used to playing on the laptop and i guess the Mexican sun must have had some effect on him too ! lol ! :-)
