Gizzy22 - Round 1, with me as marker player again.

First time in Oakmont for Giz, and the rookie prize was an unrequested 3-bogey streak.

Finally, a great teeshot at #6 gives him the first birdie in fifteen holes. But the putter curse continued in the following ones.

So, Giz, you got a target to accomplish: practicing Oakmont ;)

Just marked for LifeSux in round 2 - another solid round highlighted by a short putt for eagle on 13. I couldn't match my 27, but thankfully this one doesn't count...

    Me and Simovoice. Round 2

Fantastic round by Simone, and it could be really lower without three unlucky putts. Good luck for R3, Simo. :)

    For me, a disappointing 32.

I don't want to be overconfident, but sinking a 25 and a 30 ft. putt, missing a 4.5, a 9 and an 11 (almost straight) putt, left me only the word "disappointing". So it's golf, baby.

    R2 for Jimbean346 & DoctorTom

Daskino; I know where you're coming from. Was uncharacteristically nervy and through a stretch, was hitting shots I normally never would. Having had a few practice rounds going very low, I think you put undue pressure on yourself to repeat it when it counts. Only until the last two holes was I consistently dinging and all of a sudden, it felt natural again. Tom put in another very solid round and again could have gone lower had he made a few makeable putts. Good work partner and well done for making the weekend!

Cheers James. Still pretty handy shooting despite that slightly dodgy stretch you had in the middle. We both hit all 9 greens so plenty of birdie chances. I probably left just the two shots out there in fairness but I made my first cut so its all progress. Best of luck in R3 :-)

I think you're right, Jim, thank you. Undue pressure on the "official" round.

Joking with Simovoice at the #10 tee area, I've said "Ok, I'll play pretending to be your marker". As a matter of fact, I miss (270° rolling near the border) a 4.5 ft putt on the very first choice.

But stop complaining: R3 is waiting, and it's time to make a good recovery. To do list: Albatross at SA #14 ;)

    Good luck, Jim!
