just to expand a little on Andy's correct assessment/response:
there can be a huge variation (like 50+ yds) even when driving the same ball, on the same fairway, and under the same wind conditions.
This is especially true on StA course with smooth rolling hills and slopes going in all directions. Balls can land within a few yards of each other and experience different downhill, uphill or side slopes with results like no-bounce "burials" to spectacular "trampoline" shots that act like someone is skipping stones across a lake. I've even seen balls almost turn at a right angles due to weird bounces.
Elsewhere in the forum you will find great club performance comparisons which show quite a bit of variation even using the same ball. And these tests are tough under the best of conditions using pretty flat fairways, no wind, 100% dings and accurate clubs.
