This is not the right place for this thread but I wasnt sure where to put it :)

With regards to the final of the virtual tour, as I read it, the top 4 from round 1 will be eligible for the "final" and MUST twitch their round to also be eligible for the credits that the top 4 would win.

My question is this, if I manage 5th in round 1 I wouldn't qualify for the top 4 but what if I twitch my final round and someone in the top 4 does not twitch, would I be eligible for a top 4 placing?

Only reason I am asking is because I would be willing to grind round 1 over and over to get top 4 or close to it and I have no issue playing live, I just don't see much point doing either if it wouldn't matter anyway.

Might be a silly q but I am curious..

    Peace,

    Liz

Not sure you are reading it correctly. It says top 4 from the previous roundS. So this either means the top 4 from the 2-round season-ending championship (which would be pretty daft as it ignores the whole of the rest of the season), or it means the top 4 from the VT leaderboard after the results from the 2-round championship have been added.

But I would expect that if some in whichever top 4 it is are not prepared to Twitch, then WGT will go down the list until they find 4 willing players.

I think all 70 in each tier play rounds I and 2 with the combined scores deciding placings.  The twitching only comes into it in part 2, when the top 4 TL's play off.  I'd guess if one or more refused to twitch WGT would have to work down the list.

    This is from WGT news.

    2014 WGT Virtual Tour Championship

    PART 1

    • Date - 12/2-12/8
    • Eligible - Top 70 players in each of the Pro thru Tour Legend tiers based on the Virtual Tour Season Leaderboard thru November as posted on December 1
    • Round 1 - Tue 12/2 to Fri 12/5 - unlimited-play round on Kiawah, 18-hole stroke play
    • Round 2 - Sat 12/6 to Mon 12/8 - single-play round on Pinehurst No. 2, 18-hole stroke play
    • Scoring - Combined score from Round 1 and Round 2

    PART 2

    • Date - 12/11-12/14
    • Eligible - The top 4 Tour Legends from the previous rounds
    • Final Round - Thu 12/11 to Sun 12/14 - single-play round on a brand new WGT strokeplay course to be announced (will be released on 12/10 for practice rounds
    • Stream - In order to be eligible for these prizes, each player must stream their complete final round on Twitch, notifying WGT in advance so WGT can contact players to watch

But there's also:  See final tournament rules and details to be published on 12/1/14.

Struggling to get it captured how I wanted it but I see "previous rounds"

Does that refer to the 2 "quali rounds" or the season?

I may be reading it wrong but I would like to be sure..

It has to be season, these guys are going to be pretty pissed if they worked all year for someone to play in December and go to finials

Top 70 from the season compete.  The top 4 out of those 70 compete for the championship.  So if you didn't compete during the season you don't have a chance to make it into the top 70 and have no chance for the championship.

We all know that the actual Top 4 from the year-long event or the Finale won't be twitching. As for the top 4 of the year long, as of now, I see ONLY one who would twitch their round. The number 4 player has either quit, passed away, been booted, or went on to other things (hasn't played in 2 1/2 months). My feeling is, other than mags (yes, he will be in it, whether it's year-long or finale), the other 3 will not even be from the top 10.

If WGT is going to hand-pick the others, I would like for them (WGT) to make a list of those willing and able to twitch, and let the rest of us vote on who plays. A TON of whining is going to be done by those who claim their PC's aren't smooth with twitch running, etc....who cares...the rules are: twitch or DON'T play, so my advice is don't waste your time trying to get in when you can't or won't fulfil the final RULE by twitching your single play round live

I'd vote for Liz, if he was on the outside looking in. Mags and Liz are two you can learn something from watching. and don't mind sharing their knowledge at all. The two most giving players (knowledge, time, and $$$) on this site by far.

I see a mess, or a last minute change of rules in the near future.
