I do use a registry tweak to unload dll's from memory.  However, is there another tweak one can use to flush the ram once a program has been terminated.

I use ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE 8 to clean and repair problems on my laptop . You can get a free version on CNET which is a secure download site . It works very well and after 3 years of using it , I have no complaints . Its very easy to use . If you get it , it will give you the option to install the 10bit uninstaller . Get that as well , its great for doing a full removal of files and programs . Hope this helps .

What effect would not optimizing your RAM have on a system with 8 gig memory that only typically uses 40% or less, to run my system , Skype , and play this game?

I only ask because McAfee can start a system scan, my CPU running at about 36-40% percent when it does, my memory usage maybe increasing 5-10%, and it apparently has no affect upon my meter or the game responses.

Probably helps on a low-end system though ...

Also has a neat little feature to clear RAM and monitor CPU usage that can be pinned below the swing meter  Just click the broom to free RAM as you play and watch the CPU to time your release.

    Thanks for the replies.

I was looking for a o/s tweak and not third party software.

Even with fast memory, your memory will become fragmented over time.  Keeping the memory continuous will improve performance, although probably not noticable on newer systems.

Exactly what that Memturbo does instantly as often as you like.
