    Vinnie111:
Stay with the WGT Tour SD ball ( i still use the WGT Tour SD as Legend)

This ball is good in more ways than one but what I liked best about it was that you can easily get away without hitting the ding and still get great results. (It happens to be the ball that the level 97 Nikes hit their true yardage with, too.) Spin and distance are quite sufficient.

Oh and btw-it's only 22 credits to go swimming.  LOL

Works pretty close with the 85s too - back to being my ball of choice nowadays.  And due to my golden Water Boy award that part in bold merits some consderation, sadly.

Hey DarkenRahl, in your picture, is that one of those awesome drivers with a soleplate in the shape of Texas? I can't remember the name of it, but my Dad has one and it is a work of art.  ~ SP ~

No that is the ProBE from Louisville Golf, its based on one they made a few years back for Bob Estes - hence the BE.

I am pretty sure you are thinking of some of the Wood Brothers drivers which were some very sweet looking clubs.  If that is what your dad has, I am so jealous - they really are gorgeous.

Yes'eree'sir, Wood Brothers, Thanks, that's the one. The one he has is a virgin, like much of his collection of gems. If I remember correctly, I believe he said that Bob Tway used one for a spell. The grain on it is so 'el perfecto'! I love persimmon! So fine to the ear.

    +1 to thunder really.

Clubs you have are ample, and so distance is not the issue.

I do think you would have more fun with a better ball to slow that meter especially.  When looking at cost bear in mind durability which can get over looked.

    Cheers and happy hitting.

His ball is FINE for the TM level. I made legend in about 2 weeks using that ball. One can even score decently as a legend with those balls

I said more fun which remains how i see it.  Never said can't do well enough with it, and more fun is a v subjective thing.  If just getting to L as cheaply as possible was the only point the starter rock would do it fine, for many, with the rest of the equipment here.  I also said to consider durability when working out cost.

Higher up the levels (standard) we make more choices between competing, and how we think it should really be played.  Personally I think the equipment is too good, and yes you can still do well with much lesser gear higher up,  just not as well as needed in fine line RGs is the view taken by most.

You can compete just fine as a TL with the SD ball. I was contending and winning RGs as a TM with the L59 G20, the L48 R1 and the SD. Just play FBS on every shot with that ball. You do not lose much distance and the ball stops very quickly on most holes

Fine but how many are doing that in RGs? Any time I look at leaderboards I don't see it.

Well TM was a long time ago and I never played a RG until well into Legend, just happy banging round and never thought to try having landed here from Mars, but seems reasonable.  The point was fun though, not what the ball can do or not.  If your fun was doing it with that great.  The L59s are capable Legend irons easily and especially with that L48 R1, and so with  easily capable of nuking most TM rounds I would think with just about any ball if someone knows what they are doing a little / good aptitude.

I think when considering all this though it's important to remember that people who play RGs , well more than twice anyway, are better players.  Not saying people who do not play them are any less good because of that, but you get the picture.

Here you need to bear in mind I was not answering you, rather I was only answering the OP.

No offense to the OP but he is going to be struggling in RG standard as it stands, and so below what you were doing.  Can all change easy enough but that's as it stands IMO.

Like I say also my point was about fun and bear in mind I was not answering you but rather the OP, having looked at his play quickly.

Fun is also subjective.......as said....It's for the OP to look at the differing opinions, and now decide.  Just because you or others did v well with that ball does not follow that others can or can't, but my point was about fun only anyway with only the OPs game in mind  (as say subjective that fun part).
