    WGT,

I'm finally upset enough with the way you handle a water ball off the tee.  I can't speak to other tiers drop shot, but as for a Legend, there is no way in hell one should be put in the sand after already being penalized for hitting into the water!

This is absolutely against actual golf rules for this situation.  I know this is a sim, not actual golf, but the rules should still hold true regardless.

Maybe this has been previously asked (I admit to not having looked), but don't care.  Maybe it's time to bring it up again...and fix this!

It's hole 17 apparently, and it has been that unfavourable for years - me thinks, forever. Hard to imagine that it might ever change.

its hard not to hit it in the water when u have a 20-22 right to left wind and it doesnt move the ball one inch lol

happens to me pretty much everytime i get that wind, and if i actually adjust for it, its in the left bunker.

Ah...#17...it is the proof that the "choke" and nerves exist. The wind gets in the head, along with the water, and the eyes see the sand. The finger senses a late wet one and goes early in the sand, all to save a ball. The brain, eye, and finger never bother to just look at the pin. ~SP~

Thank you all posters for your thoughts, and I stand corrected on the hole but this is NOT about how to play it or its difficulty.

This is about the correct way of penalizing a player once your ball goes wet.  On each and every par 3 hole that I've ever played in my near 50 years of irl experience, there is a drop zone for your third shot...or you can re-tee from the box. No matter where you crossed the hazard line, you also have the option to go back as far as you wish for a drop.  I know WGT isn't set up for this but a drop zone free of rough should be and I guarantee you that the real Kiawah has one.

You should never, ever have to play out of a bunker or rough as a second penalty!!  This is completely against the rules of golf for this situation.  And it is crazy stupid that WGT forces this on us.

Please fix this, WGT!  It isn't fair or right.

P.S.  And while I'm at it, when the hell are you going to fix the non-working space bar for all IE users?  What?  Not on your priorities list?  Figures...

Sorry to say, I can't follow you on this. It's not a bunker, it's a sandy area - common in Kiawah. This is a legal spot for a drop acc. to rule 26-1 b), albeit no player with any brain cells would chose it. The premium replay spot there (and at other holes like CCC #10) is a repeat shot from the tee (rule 26-1 a)), but more frequently than not an alternative, unfavourable spot is chosen.

Another issue which is difficult to follow in the game is the "line from drop point over spot where ball crosses the border to the hole" - there may be some inconsistencies.

Still, in general, the drop is legal, yet plain stupid, ULTRA-STUPID.
The best part of it: It's the same for ev1.

    Have fun!

    TopShelf2010:
It would be the one HIO that I would cherish the most.

     It must be true, I got my first one there Dec 9, 2009 and it is still a saved replay. It is funny, 194 yrds and I'm hitting a Rapture Hybrid and a 10 cent wgt B-ES ball....;-}
