When I switch to reverse view (using the space bar) to line up an approach shot from the fairway, I move the aiming triangle to the spot I want and then switch back (using the space bar) to regular view to hit the shot.

On occasion (about once a round) the aiming triangle has moved by itself to a new spot which appears to be totally random. So that if I don't notice this movement and hit the shot the ball goes off to the new aiming point. This is extremely frustrating as you can imagine.

I have no idea what causes this to happen and it appears to occur completely randomly. It only happens on approach shots, never drives or pitch shots or putts. I follow the same procedure each time so it's not something I am doing differently.

Any ideas from the rest of you?

    Something similar to this perhaps?

↓↓ EDIT : You're welcome msulaman, the best thing is to be aware that this kind of thing can happen and its nothing to do with us being bonkers and imagining stuff.    : )

Exactly like that Scott, except that I know I have not clicked anywhere in the window after moving the aiming triangle and before I hit the shot. I am very careful not to do this since I first noticed the problem. Thanks for your feedback.

Wow Scott,  I never seen or heard of that before.  I will end up doing it at some point now, I'm sure of it lol.

Hehe, I'm sure I did it too before I discovered what was occurring. You just have to be careful to not click on the game window when the aim marker is not visible. It's too easy to miss click the reverse view camera for example, and have the aim marker jump to behind the minimap where it's possible you might not notice it.

I just toyed around with it and can think of a time I'd actually use it.

On those long putts, where I like to drag the aim marker beyond the hole just trying to get a read on what happens after the hole.   Since I like to putt from the reverse view, often find that I forgot to drag the aimer back into view for the reverse view putt.

Now, instead of having to change views again to drag the aimer back into view,  either that or trying to use the mini map, which can be fun to get the aimer back in view.  Now I can just click anywhere in view to bring back the aim box.

Where I do find myself destined to do it unknowingly, is off the green.  Aiming a drive and clicking the screen somewhere along the fw or worse, wayyyyy OB lol.

This could, however, explain those few times where my avatar has been facing back at me.  Like he wants to hit the ball out into the real world through my screen.  ;-)

Lol. I have been messing about on Merions 6th to find a good place for another video to demonstrate it better and ended up being able to put the aim marker nearly 200ft up in the sky, lol.  : )
