Can someone please explain to me how an 8 foot putt on tourney 12 greens with no elevation either way falls short after hitting it 7 feet on meter?  Not sure how this can happen other than another WGT FUBAR.

I'd always hit a level putt under ten feet an extra foot not one less.

Most 8 foot putts hit 7 feet will be short. You should be hitting it 9-10 feet.  :-)

Also aren't all putts under 10 ft listed in ft and inches?  maybe if putt said 8.8 ft or so, thats closer to 9 ft than 8 ft.

Always move the marker to the back of the hole, often the distance changes by a foot in that small movement.

Is any putt level?  Even though the numeric value indicates no elevation, the green triangle says otherwise and I go by that to tell me whether it's up or down by a small amount.

    Oh these green triangles...

From your pic, I'd expect a reasonable upslope - 2-4 ft extra power.

More difficult if it shows the arrow down with "0 in". It may still mean some upslope, so a 6" putt may stop short. Thus, still 2 ft extra power.

Truth is told by the grid IMHO. If it shows red behind the avatar and black or blue behind the hole it's unlikely that "0 in down" will be true.

    BPB 11 + 13 are good examples!

and is 0 down or up really 0? The mobile game now has putts showing 0.1 all the way up to 0.9 up or down when on the web game the same putt might show 0 elevation change. They have been testing new features like this on the mobile version first before adding them to the web game. The mobile version had variable wind speeds for almost 2 months before they were added to the web game, So maybe it won't be long for the more refined putting elevation changes are added here.

    Absofreakinglutely, YJ.

It's really a matter of taking copious notes on most of these greens, OP, especially on Oakmont, Merion and Pinenuts. It may show flat, but the reverse view tells the true tale.
