When the tee and over-head wind directions differ, What do you do?

    Say what?

If you choose a different camera be sure you note if the new camera is at a different angle to the wind on the mini-map. If it is, the wind angle displayed in the upper right will also change.

When your addressed at ball ready to tee off and hit the space bar it gives you an over head view where the wind direction sometimes slightly different.

I will answer with an analogy - If I was in a plane, taking off into a headwind and after taking off banked around 180 degrees (flying the opposite direction of the takeoff), would I be flying into a tailwind or a headwind? Yes a tailwind I hear you say.

So the wind has been the constant, only my position has changed. The same can be said of the wind in this game.

So if you have a sharp dogleg, the hole may change but the wind is constant. For example teeing off the wind might be on directly behind you but on the approach may be L-R or R-L depending on the dogleg.

You'd think I would have caught on after 2 years of playing. Sometimes I don't see the woods through the trees.  Maybe now, I can advance with alacrity.  I wonder what else I don't know. What about unknown unknowns?

LOL I am still learning - it is what keeps us interested. I realised a long time ago, I actually know very little, but I still have fun.

    Very nice of you kilbraur.

You are a good sort and a real asset to the community -  even if we have butted heads in the past. So please accept my apologies if I offended you.

First I want to thank Kilbraur for her notes and help, thank you.

I do have an a question for others on how much yardage THEY would add to this shot.

Above pic should show a position where the view is offset from the actual ball flight line.

How do YOU, not me, calculate how much yardage to add for wind direction.

    1) Do YOU  play the wind as is blowing from appx. 7:30 o'clock toward you even though the angle is offset.

    2) Do YOU play wind by imagining yourself right behind the line of ball flight which would make the wind direction more of a crosswind & YOUR added yardage compensation for wind is less.

    3) How do YOU figure how much to add for this shot.
