my old laptop suffered from high cpu usage and it was OLD and tired. Santa treated himself to a new one. I let it configure it's self according to the instructions   I then downloaded Maxthon cloud and promptly added wgt as a favourite. CAN'T PLAY the GAME NOW !! the meter is jerky as hell the picture is jerky as well. I haven't seen the cpu meter dip below 30 yet (maxthon)

I know that I am starving you for information as computer is not my lingo  It's an HP with windows 8

the only info I have is 4GB ram 500GB hard drive and something AMD E1

did I do or not do something wrong

thanks in advance for your help !!

I think what Lonnie is saying is use something safe to stop programmes starting on start up.

The likes of this allow us to safely do this without effecting programmes that may be needed.

If there is a start button in bottom left corner click it and then type "msconfig" without the quotation marks., a box will open then click the start up tab at the top, uncheck everything that is not microsoft, amd or your antivirus software then click apply then restart.

Before this step google adobe flash player and get the latest updates. the same for java and in control panel the latest windows updates.

I am the last person to give advice about computer stuff but. I had the same problem when I got my new PC windows 8. The meter was impossible to hit, then a few weeks ago for some strange reason I tried using the vertical meter. And it works like a dream. It takes a while to get use to the change. But it might be worth having a go.

New computers from HP Dell etc. come with a lot of bloat ware that you will probably never use. I build computers and I don't install most of the sht that comes with the motherboard install disk, and I always get the latest drivers manually.

I would also google amd radeon to make sure you have the latest driver for your graphics.
