    LEAGUE UPDATE

Thanks to everyone in Division 1 who played their matches so brilliantly this week.

Find the results and standings here.

I was very pleased to see that only 2 matches were unplayed out of 20, but not surprised as the division is filled with clubs with a season already under their belt and plenty of motivated players.

We have many new clubs in Divisions 2, 3, and 4 and I look forward to welcoming you to the league! Links to forms and results can be found in the information leaflet.

I am also seeking 4 volunteers from 4 different clubs to serve as a disputes committee to decide on forfeits and disconnection issues. You should be familiar with the R&A rules of golf. Please PM me for more details.

    Thanks for your effort everyone

Slor-in your Final Results and standings you listed westhamchris and jammerjay twice--awarding 2 wins to English lakes. You may want to correct that.

Old Log Cabin's Week 2 lineup has been submitted.  We are visitors so I only submitted players, no course or conditions.

    Thanks.

Agree with Lisa on this Slor. Not sure what's happened with the table and results for that fixture. You've got two results showing for the overall fixture and a 4-1 victory for EL's when the actual result was a 3-1 victory for Electra with one match unplayed.

That is fixed, but I'm having trouble with the spreadsheet after deleting a row earlier. Do hold tight.

I believe the 102 fixture with the result 4 -1 was O Canada towelling us up (The Normans Webb collective) and the English Lakes Electra game still reads 0 - 0 above where our match entry should be.

I found the culprit - two fixture 101 submissions. Solution found.

Update on fixture 101 - EL A v Electra A: Matches 3 and 5 are undergoing a dispute resolution process - this includes Match 5 which I ruled a forfeit for Electra. Disputes committee, you have a job already.

Hi Slor.Just wondered why Plims match with cate wasnt a forfeit to us either,,I fully understand Plims predicament in family troubles on Sunday and i wish him and his family all the best,But Cate55 tried for 4 days to get that game played i have PMs if you would like them,All my players were very eager to play and were avaliable,Now i did refuse English Lakes a postponement which they honurably requested,Because my Girls wanted to play,I dont think this is fair because 2 English lakes players,Never showed,,Regarding Rosey,,,English Lakes picked her to play,,English Lakes put her in the team to play us,,English lakes paired her to play with me,,And i was 8 under for 6 holes,Now she has left the club and joined ours which was a suprise to me as well as you You are disputing the fixture? Im trying hard to understand that one, this is a tremendous comp, and you Have and will continue to put so much time and hard work into it to ensure its success,Lets Move this issue along and put Electra down for the win they deserve and sweep this under the carpet please.

It's only proper that we know who makes up the "comittee". Rules have been established. This is getting too political, Let's get on with playing golf--not games

    Hi Priestess,

You make a fair point, we honourably requested the match be postponed.

We had a heavy schedule, were playing the final of last seasons competition, had injuries (me), availability problems and wanted to give each match the best attention but knew this would not be possible hence the request. We didnt take the decision to ask for this lightly, we took the decision to ask for this as it was necessary.

You chose to refuse, and then say it is unfair that two guys never showed.

I am sorry but cut people some slack, one of the guys you refer to communicated consistently, the other had a family emergency and works 12 hour night shifts. Sometimes in this competition people just don't manage to hook up, it doesnt mean they didnt wish to play. If you wish to claim a point for the match against Plim go ahead, that is your decision. I for one would be offering a halved match if I heard you had a family member rushed to hospital, as opposed to trying to claim the point.

I feel in any situation where a team has been forced to ask that a match be postponed for legitimate reasons, if the opposing team declines the request then any matches not played should be halved anyway, otherwise it is essentially point grabbing, and I dont think that is inkeeping with the spirit of this league.

    Cheers

    Monty
