  Just curious will the settings remain the same for the Semis as they were in Quarter Finals?

  Not sure if the result's been sent to you Slor but the D2B playoff happened a few days ago. YBRCC B came in third so we need to have the teams posted for the 1st Round of the Playoffs to happen. I think DoctorTom sent them at the last submission date but just ask if you need clarification of our lineup.

  Apologies, I've been away, but that is the first I've heard of it. I've now released the lineups. I'll work with your teams to catchup lost time.

  Nope. I'm brainstorming the conditions now... You'll get then in a few minutes. Apologies again, real life has taken up too much time since Thursday!

  *edited* I was thinking that I had already posted the playoff conditions before last night but couldn't find my own posting and therefore I'm not crazy...  my 1st conditions as posted are the right ones. Apologies.

  DIVISION 1 FINAL PLACINGS PLAYOFFS

  St Andrews Back 9, Medium Hole Locations, Champion (Hardest Tees), Very Fast Greens, Moderate Wind, 60 second clock

  DIVISION 1 QUARTERFINALS

  St Andrews Full 18, Medium Hole Locations, Hardest Tees, Very Fast Greens, Low Wind, 60 second clock

   

  DIVISION 2 QUARTERFINALS

  St Andrews Full 18, Medium Hole Locations, Hardest Tees, Very Fast Greens, Low Wind, 60 second clock

  Thanks for posting those teams Slor; most of our team have tried to establish contact with SCWCA so that we don't fall behind the schedule. One thought on the D1 playoffs; once the final results are through, wouldn't it be sensible to get this weeks playoffs happening ASAP rather than waiting for posting on Wednesday? As it can take 1-3 days to get the game(s) to happen, it could lead to the rest of the playoff lagging behind.

  Secondly, a quick question. What will happen with promotion and relegation if an already promoted (or relegated team) takes the relevant playoff win/loss? For example in D2, the two teams who topped D2A and D2B could theoretically meet in the final of the playoff; both sides will already be promoted through their respective leagues. I assume that would lead to a playoff between the two losing semi-finalists for the final promotion spot but it would be better to know now rather than all of the teams being in the dark until the situation actually occurs.

  I've learnt my lessons from last week and am trying to get the teams started on the playoff straight away (i.e. to get done before posting lineup time on Wednesday morning).

  Answer: In your example, the group that contains the tournament winner will get the 3rd promotion spot, meaning the 2nd place team in that group during the league stage will get promoted (if they didn't manage to lose the relegation final, then you would move down to the 3rd placed team for promotion).

  Similarly, if the relegation final is between the two 6th place teams, then the loser's group will also 'earn' the final relegation spot, meaning that the loser will take down the 4th as well as the 5th placed teams with them (unless one of those teams wins the whole tournament, then you would move up to the 3rd placed team to get relegated, etc.)
