Just played my game with Mo and won it 4&3.

Mo wasn't in a great day. I took an early 3up lead after 5, but Mo fought back to 1up after 10.

Then, a birdie on 12, a hole in one on 13 and a birdie on 15 sealed the deal.

    Thanks for the game, Mo.

Just noticed a very interesting pairing on the bracket, BinB vs. Jakestanfill! 2 WGT greats battling it out, LiveStream time methinks ;-)

Just an update on our two remaining 1st round matches. PGABound and Infinito are trying to get their match in tonight.  Put message into Poolmaniac about his match. We will award byes if needed. Thanks.

Just finished up an incredibly up and down match with Shade. Shade wasn't on his game at all on the front 9, while I played it pretty good. The front 9 ended with me being 4up, Shade quickly turned that around and before I knew it, we were AS with 2 to play. Shade hit a sick shot into 17 that rolled back down the slope to inside 3ft, I missed mine but got lucky as it took a decent kick back toward the hole leaving a relatively easy 7 footer. Still AS on 18 and man what a closing hole. Shade had 240ish to the green with a 12mph wind @ 8ish, hit 3wd to 5ft. I was in between clubs and tried to smash a 3i from 229, barely made it over the hump and rolled down toward the fringe but stayed on green 14ft away, I didn't have a view of the putt other than from slightly above and past the hole, tough to judge but I ended up making it to force extras. On the first extra, I played a choke PW to 3ft, while shade came up 15ft short of the hole, thought for a second this might be it, but he hit his putt dead center, never a doubt. Second extra seemed like Shade got the good ole no spin deviation, hit what I would certainly assume would be a full backspin 3w that launched really low, hit green and bounced 8yds past into the 40/50 rough. I was fortunate enough to get the intended ball flight and my ball stopped dead as it landed 4ft away. Shade made good par, but I knocked my birdie in for the victory. Thanks for the match, Shade. Was very exciting, let's do it again soon. PGA wins 1up on 2nd extra hole

    Great match Dan;

My driver wasn't my friend on the front, left a few in the rough, the weed whacker was of no help.  Finally started making some putts, which it could have been alot worse on the front if it wasn't for that.  The first extra hole was a pressure putt, and I spent forever reading the break, sorry it took so long, but once I saw the break, and hit the putt, I knew it was in. Your right about my tee shot on the 2 extra hole. I'm going what spin, hits the fringe and skirts into the rough behind the hole.   I had two options for my 2nd shot, flop or chip.  I decided to chip and be agressive, it creases the hole and Dan makes birdie.  Well played.

Also note, I like to keep my friends list low, other than matches, so please don't be offended.

    History has been made, boys!

Jared and I have had many battles over the last year.....all of which have gone his way.  He seemingly was the one guy that I just could never get over the hump with.......until today.  It took an amazingly hot start for me to win the match too.  I birdied the first 5 holes at Oakmont to take a 2 up lead....and when I birdied #7 and took a 3 up lead.....I knew what was coming.....the Jared Express.  That mofocut the lead to 2 after a completely ridonkulous putt on hole #9.  I was screwing with him and told him that "this was his SportsCenter moment, right here" and damned if he didn't make that putt from back right of the hole.....you know the one that goes off the front of the green if you miss it.  He only played it perfectly.....plunk....dead nuts, like it had effing eyes!

We halved hole 10 with birds, then I lost holes 11 and 12 as he made birds and nearly holed out for eagle on 12.  I knew he had gotten his groove back.  But as we all know too well, WGT giveth, and taketh away.  Jared's tee shot on #13 metered right into the bunker and left him an impossible up and down....so I took a 1up lead after 13.  Ho-hum birdies on #14.....and we both played like donks on #15 and halved with up and down pars.

Hole #16, I smoked to the back part of the green as Jared left his pin high, but about 13 feet away.  I lagged my long downhiller to within a foot, and Jared didn't quite play enough break on his banana-swinger....so I remained 1 up going into 17.  We both had to lay up on 17 with the wind totally in our faces.  I hit my approach to about 10 feet and Jared to 12 feet.  He missed his swinger and instantly said gg.  Of course, my putt broke a stack....but with nerves of jelly, I shakily sank the bender for a 2&1 victory.  I think that makes me 1-93 all time against Jared.  I guess that maybe we'll go with the "due theory" here.

Great match as always, Jared.  There are none better than you, my friend.

So after hearing two sides of a story from Stonecoldkiller and Poolmaniac6, they could not get together to complete their round. To stay as impartial as possible, I decided to flip a coin.

Poolmaniac came up heads.  In light of this situation, please make every effort possible to play your opponents! If you feel like you can't or won't (especially in the first round) then please resian as we can get a replacement or advance the other player.

Thank you. Let's make every effort to keep this tourney drama free!

Bart I couldn't have summed up our round any better. It was a lot of fun aside from my meter at 13 when I had gained all momentum :) Can't believe I drained that putt on #9. But I only had that one highlight really. You took the cake sticking about 10 approaches inside 3 ft. Top shelf effort my friend. GL in the rest of your matches. I'm going to kick your *** in the hustle on a budget.  :)

Well unfortunately for me, i ran into a freight train.  Bart and I played our match over a couple days and his putter was lights out both days.  He got out to a very quick 2 up lead with a couple 20 fters and a mistake on my part (bunker on two @ RSG).

I was playing catch up the whole match and everytime i needed Bart to miss, he didn't.  Had I been at my best, it would have been an amazing match, but i was just a tad under it and i lost to the hotter player.

Well done Barthalomew!  Hope your hot flat stick continues on to the final.

    Bartmania wins 2&1
