Would it not be fairer when playing multiplayer games with lower tiers that the green speed defaults to the lower tier. I understand the reasoning that it helps the lower tier in the long run but they get many chances to play higher green speeds within my cc in the various comps we set up. As most CCs are legend/tour legend top heavy it certainly would help with retention of members of tour pro and below. And as the higher tier have already played those speeds it should not be a problem for them. Nothing is more disheartening when faced with champ speed greens and low tier balls on a downhill putt which is breaking whilst still coming to terms on how to putt on your own tier speed. This should also help the bottom line $$$ rake for WGT as more players would stay within the game and not give up. But as with most sensible suggestions posted I very much doubt that it will come to pass

All balls putt the same, don't they?

I've always thought that green speeds shouldn't be tier specific, but based on day to day play or even round to round.

In the thought of being realistic, on the real course it doesn't matter who is playing, the conditions are what the conditions are.

Get to the first green and find out what the green speed is for that round. It would give more use to the practice rounds for players to learn all green speeds.  This way, no tier should have to worry about playing with any other tier because of a faster green speed than they are accustomed to.

I fully agree. Something along this line would be a most important move that WGT could make, It would be more realistic. It would enhance random alt-shot play as many decline a game to avoid having to play with a TL on TL greens...make the TL play on standard speed greens and encourage the newer player to stick around.

A mixture of green speeds would better define all around playing skill and tighten up competition at every level.  ~ SP ~
