KonradOse wins 3&2, the same score as our match in the last cup.
Hole 1: me short left rough, Konrad right side of the green. He two-putts and I make a 10-footer to save par.
Hole 2: I miss the fairway and have to play safe to the green. Miss from 25 feet. Konrad hits it 7 feet above the hole and drains it to go 1up.
Hole 3: Konrad hits a nice shot and I try to match it, but barely miss the green right. My chip runs 8 feet past (still not used to the new rough) and I miss the curler coming back. Konrad doesn't even have to putt to go 2up.
Hole 4: Just like my previous two Cup rounds, I left it short (really need to figure out that hole sometime). Konrad does also, and we both leave the pitches a foot or two short to halve.
Hole 5: Both of us are in the fairway. Konrad sticks his shot to 3 feet and I hit it to 25 and miss the putt. Konrad 3up.
Hole 6: I come up short yet again. Konrad's shot flies 6 yards past, but he misses the putt. I flop to 7.5 feet but my putt doesn't break like I thought and burns the edge. Konrad goes 4up.
Hole 7: Konrad, hitting first, goes for the green but catches the edge of the front right bunker. I lay up and hit a wedge to a couple of feet. Konrad's bunker shot doesn't clear the ridge and he misses his 30-footer to halve. ROW 3up.
Hole 8: I hit first and stick it within 2 feet, but Konrad responds with a shot to 8 feet and a nice birdie putt to stay 3up.
Hole 9: With 11-13 mph wind right to left, I play my drive a hair too far right and catch a branch that I've never even looked at before. Konrad plays center fairway. I hack it out to 180 yards and hit a good approach that settles 10 feet away, but Konrad hits his to 12 feet and holes the birdie to make mine irrelevant. ROW 4up at the turn.
Hole 10: Konrad runs just through the fairway. I play it a little safer and hit my approach to 13 feet. He matches it. I miss my birdie just high but he lips out to keep it 4up.
Hole 11: From the fairway, I hit a pitching wedge to the fringe short right. Konrad drives into the rough but hits his approach to 16 feet, but we both miss.
Hole 12: Both in the fairway, but this time I make sure to add enough distance. I hit it to 4.5 feet and Konrad hits to 20 feet. He misses and I make to pull within 3.
Hole 13: Both hit safely below the hole, Konrad to 14 feet and me to 13. He plays just too much break and runs it three feet past. I observe his mistake and counter by playing just too little break, lipping out on the low side. Still 3up ROW.
Hole 14: I hit my drive a little too far and reach the edge of the valley. Konrad plays it safely back and hits to 12 feet, while I don't play enough yardage from the downhill slope and leave it on the fringe 20 feet short. My putt lips out again and he rolls in a birdie to go 4up with 4 to play.
Hole 15: Konrad misses short and left, and it rolls into the fringe 12 feet away. I narrowly miss the flag and stop it 2 feet away. Konrad burns the edge and I win the hole. ROW 3up with 3 to play.
Hole 16: With a tailwind, both of us had wedges in. My wedge from the fairway settled to 3 feet, while Konrad's from the rough (about 20 yards in front of me) left 5.5 feet for birdie and the win. It broke right at the end but not enough to leave the hole. ROW wins, 3&2.
