Exactly as Aussieguy says above...the way it goes now, only rounds scored under your average are now counted. I too feel as if we TM's are despised, when for myself I play to the BEST of my ability every round. I don't sandbag, it goes against the grain utterly. Yes, I have rounds under 30...4, to be exact. I've had a few 30's, but generally play to my average only around St.A when playing a 9 hole round. I have only ever scored 2 or 3...thats right TWO or THREE rounds around 61/62 which is my average. Nothing like those who do it consistently every day or two.. I have a high level simply because I have played something like 46 days straight...do that math at 880pts a day.
My average has stalled because I stopped playing the front 9 at St.A as much as I was. Knowing that while I can play a good round, I am not in the league of those who are shooting mid 50's in qualifying for the LPGA Championship. I haven't heard too much whinging about that scoring, just quietly. And there is more than a fair share of Legends at the top of the RG leaderboards.
Yes, simply because I am going to score some low rounds I will eventually get bumped up and have to work it out all over again. But I would challenge any Legend who has sat at the top of the leaderboards since the new system was put in place to stick their whinges where it fits. They still provide the majority of names in both monthly earnings and top places in the RG's. Any sympathy I had for them due to unfairness of what they were originally faced with under the changes has evaporated long ago. Maybe those of them who are providing the constant bitching will be happy when once again they get to divvy up the RG riches between themselves once again.
