Anyone know if it's possible to break up iron sets to omit a single club? I want to omit my 3 iron and add a third wedge (exactly what I do in real golf).

It is not possible, and from previous threads, not an option WGT is going to explore.

omit the hybrid... or the wood.... that's what I did in favour of a third wedge and guess what... only very rarely I miss the hybrid...

No can do. The hybrid is one of my go to clubs. I never mishit the thing. It's probably the most predictable club in my bag.

In a typical 18 hole round how many times do you use it vs. how many times you needed that extra wedge?

Better yet, how many total shots in that round do you take with BOTH the 3W and the HB?

Especially from the legend tees the 235 three wood is practically useless. I was thinking about replacing my 225 burner 3 wood with a 220 or 222 hybrid when it is available but I'm getting perturbed enough about it not being available that I've about changed my mind. It may be a better all around club anyway. The last club I'll buy may be the 280 yard driver. Turning legend is like turning 18 and not being able to buy booze.

just curious, why is the long 3w useless from legend tees?  i just picked up the Rapture V2 with the idea that i might need some fairway length as I start moving up to the longer tees.  I dropped the hybrid and currently carry the starter plus 3w (a bargain @ 20 creds) for my 190 shots until I get nicer irons.  At that point I plan to drop the starter plus 3w and add another wedge, probably 100 distance (i have a nice 85 & 60 yarder).... then a supper long driver was gonna be final purchase perhaps for until I join the senior tour.

    any problems w/ that setup?

I have been involved in several of these discussions lately.  I did away with the hybrid a long time ago.  There is no way to put a value on how much i use my wedges..they are an absolute life saver around the green...you will not miss the hybrid at all.

Check out this same discussion here. I am working on that exact setup and there were a lot of good opinions on it.
