Bottom right of the game client window, you will see a spot that you can turn down the sound or turn it off altogether.

Go to menu ( top left of browser window ), click on game settings and scroll around to turn 'stuff' on or off.
Click where it says audio to get rid of many other annoying sounds ;-)
